Ok I've just preordered the OST at Play-Asia.

Hype+100. Famitsu already reviewed FFXII and gave it a perfect score.

I got this message from Cocoebiz yesterday:
Thank you very much for your preorder on the Final Fantasy XII Original Soundtrack!
The release date on this item might be changed and we are still waiting for the fixed information for this
item. Due to this circumstance, we will postpone sending your Preorder Confirmation email with the
total cost of your order.

We will update your order as soon as we receive the newest information.
Thank you very much for your understanding and patience.

So it seems that the releasedate isn't certain yet! :/

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

That's a bummer. Isn't Aniplex the distributor/publisher? They're still advertising it being released on April 19th:

Releasedate's never say much!
Even when they seem to be official, they can still be delayed.
For instance....just look at the releasedate of the Kingdom Hearts 2 OST, which was supposed to be released in December (I believe) and was eventually released a month later!

It could also be that Cocoebiz didn't yet recieve the same info as other shops did (like CDJapan or Play-Asia).

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Well that's true. I was just trying to point out though that if the date had changed then surely the publisher would of removed the original date and info from their page, is all.

Hopefully the album is still on track and it's just a case of not enough info like you said.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

It seems Amazon.co.jp now have the OST listed, at least it looks like that way:
http://www.amazon.co.jp/exec/obidos/...915602-8402341

The CD set still seems on track for release on April 19th.

Apologies for the double post. I forgot the "Additional Post" feature isn't working right now.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Man I am so excited to hear this! This is Sakimoto's biggest and most involved work to date. He has never worked on a larger title. Although his work is suffering slightly with all the projects he is taking on (still better than 95% of other composers' work), I have confidence that he will deliver another haunting, dramatic score that will perfectly suit the game.

Anybody thinking of pre-ordering from amazon.co.jp might be interested in this one-time use¥500 off ¥5000 coupon code: BMVD5JPY5XXS (expires 3/30/06). Of course, you'll have to find something else to pad the order.

Um, I'm a newbie to Amazon.co.jp ordering... how do you guys go about it, considering I'm based in America and everything on that page is in Japanese?

Or would you recommend a different vendor?

Essentially, I'm asking which is the cheapest and fastest?

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Fastest is amazon. Shipping might be a tad higher than some places, but not by much (maybe 100 or 200 yen). You will most likely receive it on the release date (April 19th).

About ordering from there, on the corner of the page, there is a "Display in English" option, if you click that, things like preorder buttons should be displayed in english. When you actually set up an account, there's also an option on the page to display everything in English. There is an option for international addresses also. When asked for the furigana of your name, you can just put your name in again.

When you have your account set up, you can just go to the "Your Account" section, and it should look like this:

The red circled area is where it asks if you want this page displayed in Japanese. If the rest of the page was in Japanese, that option would be in English, asking if you wanted to display it in English, you'd just have to click there. Also, you can see the "Set Your Ordering Language Preference" option, once you take care of that, any future visits should be in English.

That about sums it up, I guess.

How much is the OST on Amazon.co.jp once you've figured in the shipping and all that? I plan to order it using a Simon Gift Card, so I need to know how much money to put on the card.

I ordered it there. The OST is 3,800 yen and I use International Express shipping which is 2,000 yen. So, it comes to a total of 5,800 yen, which is around $49.

The soundtrack is out...Kind of.

It looks like Square-Enix is providing a "Best of Final Fantasy XII Original Soundtrack" on iTunes right now:
http://www.square-enix.co.jp/music/sem/page/dl/

The downside? Seems to be Japan only.

Yeah you can. Also some when you purchase the Japanese version of the game instore you get an iTunes card that allows you to download 5 of the 11 tracks for free. I uploaded the first 5 to Tappy's FTP and a YSI link in the FFXII thread here:
http://www.gamingforce.com/forums/sh...8143#post38143

Not sure how long the YSI so hopefully Tappy will throw it up for everyone tomorrow.

Just thought I'd give a heads up on the FFXII PSF2 rip done by oddigy/tz, which was originally mentioned in THIS thread.

http://oddigytitanium.com/psf/psfpsf...0XII%20WIP.rar

It's marked as a "WIP" (work in progress) because the tracks still need to be completely timed and tagged, and I think there are some duplicates in there as well. Nevertheless, this is a lot of FFXII music.

Please make sure you read the rules at the bottom of the main page before downloading.

You can get the PSF/PSF2 plugin for Winamp here:
http://www.neillcorlett.com/he/

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
