Reason and PCMCIA Card

I am not sure if this would go into the Computing forum, or this forum, so if I got this wrong, then a mod can move it. This question is exclusive to hardware and software for music production, so I thought it would go here.

Ok, basically, I have a laptop computer (1.4 GHz Celeron M), and I want to run Reason on it for its synthesizer plugins for live performances. However, there seems to be a slight delay when I use it. It is most likely not too noticable for listeners, but it makes it hard for me since I rely on immediate feedback for what I play.

Right now it has some crappy embedded Realtec sound device.

I see on buy.com a great deal for a Creative Audigy 2 ZS PCMCIA card:
buy.com/prod/Creative_PCMCIA_Sound_Blaster_Audigy_2_ZS_Notebook/q/loc/101/10404497.html

Would the operation of Reason be any faster if I used this card?

Thanks.

Jam it back in, in the dark.
