Wow. Just picked up an HDMI cable and plugged my PS3 into my parents 50" Plasma TV and set the resolution to 1080i. I officially don't want to go back to school ever.
In other news, my little brother opened my copy of Genji, so there goes my option to return it. Oh well. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
I have Ridge Racer and Resistance too. Don't see the point in buying any of the other games (ports lol) for the PS3. Right now I'm waiting for Virtua Fighter 5, MotorStorm (maybe), Heavenly Sword if it's good, and Armored Core 4. The GTHD demo is pretty darn impressive. Even my dad thought it was some sort of show on TV at first.

Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection was just released in Japan and Hong Kong on the PS Store.
2000 yen, which is ~$16-17 USD. Hopefully the rest of the world sees a release soon! http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/new...hp?story=12225 What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
I hooked up my PS3 and boy does that thing get fingerprints and stuff on it very easily.
Resistance is very cool though. Most amazing jew boots

Does anybody here use a headset? I was thinking about going out to the store today and grabbing one, but wanted to know what kind/brand I should be looking for that's considered of better quality, or I guess more bang for my buck.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
well any usb headset work, and the ps3 is compatible with most bluetooth headset too.
for me I had the ps2 headset for a long time so I'm using it even is it's wired, but the cord is so long that it doesn't really bother me... I never try any bluetooth device so I can't say for them. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
It's also compatible with bluetooth headsets? I'll have to give my headset a try then...
I'll write back when I got a chance to do that. I was speaking idiomatically. |

Question about making the 20GB PS3 wireless.
Does it support any USB wireless adapter? What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? Huh...I got the PS3 to recognize my bluetooth headset, but I can't seem to get it to work online in Resistance. Is their an option you need to set in the game to enable headsets or something?
Also something that's weird - whenever I set my headset and try to log on to resistance, it won't connect, saying theres some kind of error. I have to go back and reset the internet settings. It will then work just fine, but isn't that kind of strange? Why would setting up my bluetooth headset have an effect on my wireless settings? FELIPE NO |
Odd. My bluetooth headset works perfectly with Resistance. What kind of error are you getting?
And if you do get it set up, remember that you have to hold down L3 to have people hear you (if you're not in a team game.) What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Weird...it's not giving me the connection error anymore, and my bluetooth is now working just fine. Maybe I had one too many at the bars last night :/.
I'm sure I wasn't holding down L3 either. I'm very new to the 'online gaming' thing. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
I was thinking about buying a bluetooth headset with my best buy gift cards. Some range between 50 to 100 dollars. Which is a good one to buy? =\
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Well, I use the Jabra BT350. Works just fine with my phone as well as my PS3, and it's right in your price range. I got it at the Verizon store for about $70. It has some pretty cool features too, such as answer/end call, last number redial, call hold/wait, as well as a vibrate alert. I can't really compare it to other headsets though, as it is the only one I have really tried...
ALSO - I'm playing ranked games in Resistance online, but it won't keep track of any of my games or stats, but shows all of the medals I have earned. What the hell? Is there something I'm doing wrong, or something technically wrong with the Resistance servers, or something like that? I've noticed this with a lot of other people I play against as well... This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
did you read the message they show before playing online? because you wouldn't have asked that question >.> (now go read it!)

Gonna have to ask this one again, but I have a little more ground to cover now.
Will the PS3 recognize and utilize a USB network adapter -- specifically, one like what the 360 and the DS have? Also, if it does support, is it safe to assume it'll let me connect to my PSP? It seems wireless headsets connect just fine to the PS3, but how about a wireless keyboard and mouse? I was speaking idiomatically. I couldn't get any mouses to work, but my wireless logitech keyboard works just fine with it. I think some people said that a lot of blue tooth keyboards will not work though, so I'd avoid getting any of those and just go for another brand of wireless.
Not sure what you are asking exactly above, though. the 60GB has wifi so it will find and use any usb network adapters you have within range; but er, not sure what the DS or PSP has to do with it though, unless you are asking if the PS3 functions like they do, and yes -- as long as it is the 60gb version. I'm referring to the 20GB model. Since it has no built-in wireless, I'm wondering if it can use something like the DS's or the 360's wireless network adapter that plugs via USB to pick up on a wireless signal.
And then if it can, will I also be able to connect to my PSP just like the 60GB already allows you to do? I'll pay attention from now on . Thanks. Most amazing jew boots |

USB adaptors normally do downstream access where I don't know if it work with the PS3.
The Nintendo USB adaptor though only does upstream which means that it wouldn't work. Not only that, but it also only works with Nintendo products. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
I bought one of these yesterday: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1125238765780
My friend works for Best Buy so he was able to buy one for 47 dollars. I have yet to try it with my PS3 but I heard this one works fine. If anyone is up for a game in Resistance I'll play. :3 I should warn you that I'm terrible at first person shooters. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Definately What's your PSN name? Should start up a name topic perhaps, now that people can actually find PS3s!
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Well, the wii and xbox 360 forums have topics for friend codes/xboxlive names so if you create a thread with a collection of PSN names I'll go ahead and sticky it!
I'll also add a field in our profiles to keep it. I was speaking idiomatically. |
Quick question for people using blutooth headsets with their PS3's -
Should my PS3 be automatically finding my headset? It seems that I have to put my headset into pairing mode and go into the system settings every time I want to use it. Could it be something wrong with my headset, or is there some kind of 'trick' that I'm just not doing? It's pretty annoying... EDIT: Oh. Found this pretty nifty site - http://boardsus.playstation.com/play...read.id=898874 According to these guys, I'm not the only one with this problem. It could be caused after charging, after the PS3 is restarted, or simply because of the headset model. I have a Jabra 350, and some other guys who have the same headset say that they also have to put it into pairing mode every time they start up their PS3. So if anybody is looking into a headset, maybe you can use this as a reference. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?
