Got 271 and 273 (271 is my desktop picture =P)
272 I have a hunch on, but I'd have to look for a bit, and I KNOW 275, but I wanna check on that first. EDIT - yep, got 275 I was speaking idiomatically. |
Got 271 and 273. I've heard 272 and 275, but I have to do some checking to be sure of what they are. I know who composed 272; I'm just not sure which game it's from.
EDIT: Yep, I was right on 272; up to 211 points. Now to find 275... What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?
Check out my original music at my Soundcloud page!
Latest music rips (updated January 10, 2012): SimCity DS - Jazz/ambient/electronic music including interesting reworkings of songs from the fantastic SimCity 3000 soundtrack Cold Winter Original Game Music Score - Really cool; dark, full, emotional strings mixed with drums, piano, choir. Kind of like Furious Angels? Play-Asia - Japanese CDs, game soundtracks, game imports, & more

Like there's any doubt on #271.
I think we at GFF have an unfair advantage as far as knowing the source of #272, even though it's one of the tracks from the game that HASN'T been spread around yet. #273 I know from a lol remix. FELIPE NO |

There's nowhere I can't reach. |
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Random quessing gets me some garbage points, but I get some songs wrong because I was off by just a little on the game. I wish (and suggested) that you be allowed to reguess songs you were close on only one more time.

Okay
#271 - Finished that game on arcade last year at the university...free quarters ftw! #272 - Heard that somewhere for sure but I can't get my finger on it yet #273 - I have that game and it has been covered XX times #274 - I probably have a VGmix of that song somewhere on my pc...i'll have to check it out #275 - This has been remixed by one of the greatest VGM artist i know. 8 points it is! Most amazing jew boots |

Track 1: In SotW Track 2: In SotW Track 3: In BSC Track 4: Here Track 5: Still unaccounted for. Someone needs to top us off already. :-/ I like how the tracks are all in chronological order too. How ya doing, buddy?

also, I like turtles |
Oh, duh, I am moron. I gave up looking for 272 too soon, because of all these crazy backwards hints. I did figure out the composer though, so I was able to get it now. And I also finally see this advantage, but it certainly didn't help me.

Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Nooo! I went back to get an earlier song that I now know because of BSC, and I had already incorrectly guessed it awhile ago. Would've been worth 7 points. :-/
There's nowhere I can't reach.

Hi folks,
I was only recently introduced to this awesome quiz about a month ago at another forum, and have been enjoying it ever since. By the time I was able to make it to the top 5, the top list was disabled (damn cheats!) Anyways, I thought I'd join the only active thread on this quiz I'm aware of. Edit: Here are my stats: vgmq.garoux.net/?s=7&id=1968

Damn, it's been a while since I last checked in with VGM Quiz. I still suck at it though. Right now I'm going through the database and only guessing on the ones I KNOW, and I've been pretty successful so far, over 50 points with only 15 guesses.
I really need to brush up on my chiptune and Sega music though. Damn. If the contest ever ends, I really hope this guy releases a list of all the songs. Some of these rarer songs are hella cool. I'd guess at them to see what game they're from, but I don't want to hurt my average. I was speaking idiomatically. |
Finally found #233 and #140
It's just awesome when you just play a random game and go: Hey, that's in the quiz! What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
He's testing out the group scripts now, which is good news. If they work well, we can have the group up for us to keep track of everyone's scores. And then maybe we'll get some new songs! (Because really, the songs are the most important updates of all)
FELIPE NO |
I started a group, so people who sign up for the trial can join it if they want. It doesn't look like I have any power to add arbitrary people to the group; you have to click "Join" yourself and then I approve you.
I messed up the GFF URL, though. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Awesome!
Is it possible to enter more than one group? Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Finally got some new points today. It's only been like a month since I figured out a track, geez.
And it's been a long time since the guy updated, too. I want some new tracks. =( How ya doing, buddy? |
Definitely need new tracks. I hope DarkWolf gets around finishing those scripts and adds 10 or more tracks soon. Of course, you could always go back and try guessing older ones.
And what's up with #0004? No clue what that is til now, and it's only worth 2 and only 24/67 (35.82%) correct. Someting like that should be worth 4-5 points I think. |
I think some of the early tracks, he probably overestimated or underestimated the popularity of several games. Games he'd heard of a lot as a kid or maybe everyone in his neighborhood had growing up he would assume to be common, but they aren't really. I think a lot of the early point values were skewed towards Sega games being worth less, but the points seem to be fairly accurate now.
I'm more surprised tracks 64, 70, 71, and 200 still haven't been guessed by a single person. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
UPDATEUPDATEUPDATEUPDATEUPDATE
Five new tracks. Only got #277, but I feel like I listened to #276 yesterday. People should join the GFF group. I'm currently eating a granola bar. It seems like you might fuss like butterflies, thinking why? I was speaking idiomatically. |
