Driving my self crazy over monitors

Alright, I am going to be upgrading my PC on Tuesday. I have everything picked out

8800 GTS nvidia 512
AMD 64 6000 Duel Core
Logitec Z 5500 5.1
Creative X-Fi Xtreme Audio 7.1 PCI-Express
250GB Main Hard Drive - TB Slave 300 GB Slave All Sata.
22 LCD ? ( Any Suggestions on These, Will be gaming on them )
2GB(2x1GB) DDR2 PC8500 1066MHz Matched Pair Crucial Ballistix Tracer w/ LEDs

Now I need a monitor.

What I'm looking for is a 22 inch that will play what ever I throw at it. If any one reading this has a gaming monitor and actualy plays more than web based games, say crysis or other high end games please put your model number in this thread.

After reading so many reviews I am looking for people who actualy OWN and GAME on their monitor. If I could find a 24 inch for under 300 I would go after it but I'd rather have a high quality 22 inch than a low quality 24 inch...

Thanks

Jam it back in, in the dark.

These days, unfortunately, monitors differ more on paper than in real life. Things like contrast ratio and response times aren't measured by an industry standard, so a monitor with seemingly worse specs could look better than one with "better" specs. If there is a store nearby with monitors on display, I'd suggest taking a look at them. Bring a DVD with you and stick it in the machine so you can get an idea of the colour, and play around with the monitor's settings. Don't forget, many stores have a series of monitors feeding off a VGA splitter, so the quality will not represent the monitor's true performance.

An excellent resource for all things monitors is the Hard Display Forum. I based the purchase of my BenQ FP241W on the information there, and I am quite satisfied.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Thanks, May I ask what type of gaming do you do on that monitor, like what games etc.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

I've run Day of Defeat, Orange Box, CS:S, Company of Heroes, Call of Duty 4, Bioshock, Enemy Territory Quake Wars, Battlefield 2, UT04, UTIII, Battle for Middle Earth II, Call of Juarez, Crysis, and FarCry just to name a few. This monitor suits them all perfectly.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Great, Tuesday Im heading to Fryes and picking one up lol, how much did you pay for yours?

Whats funny is besides all the brand name tried and true monitors there is either 2 options for the uncommon brands.

They suck or are really good lol. I can tell you that most people told me CTL sucks and I agree having been to their HQ here in portland where I live + all the greedy resellers are pushing them hard.

KDS just because ive read so many crap reviews on them. Pretty much I've learned any small ma & pa computer shop monitors that are not name brad will be the cheepo monitors pushed at a high price.

One place I asked them if they could put a hig end game in to see how it played and the guy wipsered to me that the CTL was mostly for spread sheet office stuff..

Well thanks, Im going to check out BenQ FP241W

About $560 CAD. Good luck finding one though, they've been discontinued. Also, I'd advise against buying this monitor if you are only using it for PC gaming. Are you basing this decision purely off the fact that I mentioned I had one?

FELIPE NO

Actualy I changed my mind but am going for the Samsung 2232 BW 22 inch. Thats based on its 2ms response time. Now I will check out fryes but if they dont have it Im forced to pay Worst Buy 299 for it however for letting get 50 more dollars out of me, I can get a 4 year warranty plan to bypass shipping it to samsung.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?
