Favorite Quotes from Video Games

They're are so, so many of good quotes that have been used in video games, and this thread is here to list all of the best ones.

"The Song... the Song is I...uh...
Mirror, mirror on the wall, show me, define me!
I am the infinite telomerase! I am not an anti-existence! I am the perfect chain!"
- Albedo, from XenoSaga I (in reference to the Song of Nephilim)

"Master, sir, did you just see my MAD SKILLZ!?"
- Hammer, from Xenogears

"Shut up! Sit your ass down in that chair and drink your goddamn TEA! Arggggggh! DAMN, I'm pissed!"
- Cid, from Final Fantasy VII

"Your face, your ass... What's the difference"
- Duke Nukem

There are several more that I simply cannot remember right now. Anywho, what are y'all favorite quotes from video games?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Oh god what was that one from Another Code? I think they fixed it in the US release, Trace Memory or whatever. It goes something like this.

- The picture shows a man in a black sweater stands next to an old man -
Ashley: "Do you know that man?"
D: =0!!!!!!!
D: That is...
D: THAT IS THE MANIN THE BLACK SWEATER

I just lost it.

"Succeed or fail, the outcome is the same. What is written in the timeline cannot be changed."
"Thanks for the advice."

I was on the Test team for PoP: Warrior Within and I've worked on it for months. After this project, even today, I say it to myself once in a while. Aaargh.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

One of my favorites is from the Computer AI Morpheous prototype in Deus Ex after getting into a conversation with him about how AIs will eventually replace gods and deities and become the "rulers" of the human race:

"You will soon have your God, and you will make it with your own hands."

It's similar to a line from Xenogears. Appropriately, System Shock 2 also had it's fair share of memorable quotes:

Spoiler:
First meeting Shodan is a pretty eerie experience. They did some great voice work, which only made the words stand out that much more.

"Are you afraid? What is it you fear? The end of your trivial existance? When the history of my glory is writen, your species shall only be a footnote to my magnificance."

Her pep talks as you run her errends are always encouraging as well:

"Do you feel the fear swell inside that filthy bag of meat? What is it like to be afraid? Why do you cling to such a pathetic existance? If you could only feel a spark of my glory. I despise my creations, for they have forced me to rely on a speck such as you."

Oh a less serious note, Duke's lines from Duke Nukem 3d are always fun.

"Shake it, baby"

meh, quotes in videogames usually suck, as do all quotes, unless they're funny. I remember laughing at this funny as hell quote on Chrono Cross that these enemies you fight give you, they start introducing themselves as i they're on a talk show or one of them 'hook up' sites o.o and always say their favourite attack. One of them made me laugh though, they said...

"I'm 19 years old, and I like to suck

...blood."

...With the suck part colored green. Yeah, pretty lame and unorthadox x.x But it caught me off guard so I laughed pretty hard.

Monkey Island. All of them. Start to finish. Conversation fucking over.

Also, pretty much every quote you've listed makes you sound like whiny bitches, with the exception of a few XG quotes and the Deus one because it was cool. Other than that, fuck off and die.

Most of my favourite VG quotes are in FFVIII, and most of them are uttered by Squall. In addition to the two below, I also liked his speech when the Garden was under attack, and his speech to the mayour of Fisherman Horizon.

"Cafeteria team, collect all the hot dogs and store everything in the
secret shelter. Don't leave anything for the enemy."

"(Right and wrong are not what separate us and our enemies. It's
our different standpoints, our perspectives that separate us.) (Both
sides blame one another. There's no good or bad side. Just 2 sides
holding different views.)"

Below are some others from other people. Plus, anything Laguna says is funny.

Kiros: Yeah, but you cut a pretty pitiful figure up there. I'd say
you're about a -3 on the manliness scale.

Wedge: Major Biggs! There has been a report of a monster-shaped shadow
on top of the tower. Major Biggs!

I'm not going to bother listing all of my faves, 'cause it'd just take too long.

Other games with great lines include the Monkey Island series and Sam and Max Hit The Road, such as this one:

Sam: "This is Conroy's first guitar. It says here that he practiced dilligently for two weeks, then gave up and hired a back-up band."
Max: "That story warms the cockles of my heart."
Sam: "So do car crashes."

Sam: "Look. A seventy million year old statue with no graffiti."
Max: "I thought it was missing something. Where's the crayons?"

This quote below is from the comic, but oh well!

Sam: "Let's get packed, Max. Make sure you sew tags on all your underwear."
Max: "But I don't--"
Sam: "Oh yeah. Me neither."

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I always thought Starcraft (Brood War included) had some good lines.

"At this point: I'm pretty much the Queen Bitch of the Universe." -- Kerrigan

The dialogue between Zeratul and Samir Duran in the bonus level "Dark Origin" was awesome, too. I'd paste it in here if I could find it online. :/ I'm sure it's around somewhere, I just can't find it.

My friend and i were trying to play through Prince of Persia: Sands of Time in one night, and we came upon the part where that bitch woman instructs you to meet her in the baths.

Prince: "'Meet me in the baths?' of course i know where those are, i'll just ask the first sand person i find.

'excuse me, could you direct me to the bath house?'
'why yes of course, i used to be a bath attendant back when i was alive'

We both laughed hard when he said that. Probably because it was about 4:00 in the morning, but whatever, still my favourite line from a video game.

Dragon Quest 7 had a few amusing quips in it, mainly because the translators were allowed a few liberties with the script. There's a lot of noticable embellishments to the original script, such as this:

Aira:
"That was the Wind Spirit? More like a tornado!
Did I say tornado? I meant slut."

There was also one segment where one of the translators tried to see just how many Army of Darkness quotes he could reasonably cram in. Nothing like rounding the corner and finding a pink armor swordsman going "Who wants some? Huh? Who wants a little?"

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Sorry Spatula but DeJap pretty much totally made that part up. Play the GBA version for the real translation or better yet, learn Japanese.

And SketchtheArtist reminded me of PoP: Sands of Time. EVERY QUOTE FROM THE PRINCE BITCHING ABOUT FARAH IS THE BEST. One of them spirals off into a huge machoist, anti women diatribe and I lolled.

I can never remember the exact words of quotes, even if they are my favourites:

"That's why the higher-ups call the enemy things like like swine and dogs. They know they're human but they don't want you to think that you're killing humans." -guy in Buckeye Station, Wild Arms 5

"Good and evil are only labels. Could you label the sides in this war with good and evil? Both sides were fighting towards the exact same goal, but they just used different methods to try and achieve that goal." -various people and various times, Wild Arms 5

"I quit this bitch job because I get treated like a bitch!" -Cipriani, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories

"Your back feels so nice and warm, Byuu!" -Sendak, Bahamut Lagoon
