Video Card Question

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814129052

What is the difference between this visiontek and the ATI version of the X850XT? I know it says the chipset on this one is by ATI. Is this a generic video card? Is it pretty much the same card but just being sold by a different company? Which one is better? Can someone explain to me, I'm a noob.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

The Visiontek card is built around the same ATI-made chipset as the ATI-brand card. They'll have the same performance and I don't think that you'll run into any reliability problems with it.

However, if you're in the market for a high-end AGP card, I think that the GeForce 7800GS is a better choice. It's about the same speed as the X850 XT PE, but has a better feature set, a smaller and (probably) quieter cooler, and it's a bit cheaper. Plus, you can actually buy cards with it. ^^

There's nowhere I can't reach.

is the 7800 really better than the X850XT? I wanted to go with ATI, I've been looking at both of those cards for a few months now.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Yes. The 7800GT, right? Yes, it's better than the X850XT if you want PCI-E (I dunno about the 7800GS AGP).

The GS is the best AGP card out for retail.

But yeah you were right. The chipset is the onlly difference. 3rd party companies can use theirs, which are slightly inferior, but nothing really noticeable. But yep, go for nVidia.

How ya doing, buddy?

Yeah I'm just looking to buy the absolute best AGP card out there to finally finish building this computer. I didn't know the 7800 Nvidia was the best. Thanks for the info. Any other advice?

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?
