Bad Dudes - BGM 2 I can never predict how chippy songs will do, other than the fact that my taste in them seems 180 degrees out of sync. So the fact that I think it is pretty decent is probably a death knell.

Liquisity 2 - Gameplay 1 Another Bandcamp find, this one pure quirky fun from the composer of the Oil Blue, if any of you remember that long-ago nom. Check out the full OST.

Megalomachia2 - SUPER-REFLEX Bright, busy, and calorie-free. Like a SNES racer or Mega Man X track.

NiGHTS ~Journey of Dreams~ Original Soundtrack - Al-Di-La - Lavender Ver. I really dig a few tracks from Nights, but a lot of the rest seem to be lacking a certain "dreamlike" quality that the best ones have. The plinky instruments and wordless vocals do a good job of providing the latter, even if the piece meanders a bit.

PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX Original Soundtrack - Pac Rainbow There are some really neat electronic textures here, even if they're not developed as much as they could be. The piece drags in places, especially near the beginning, but improves as more layers are added.

Sekai no Subete instrumental album "pf pianoforte" - Daybreak I generally like piano pieces, but this sounds a little bit too much like chamber music in places for my taste, especially when the Melodrama Violin is in full swing. Still, some nice bits.

Stahlfeder - Mission 3 - Sky Base Shmup song is shmuppy.

Virgin Games Greatest Hits - Volume One - Victory (Robocop vs. The Terminator) A little disappointing that none of the badassery from Robocop or Terminator seems to carry over into this relatively mild piece. Maybe it's the synths, but everything seems dialed way back, and there isn't much of a melodic hook.

The Point Spread
Gameplay 1 - 3 pts.
BGM 2 - 1 pt.
Lavender Ver. - 1 pt.
Pac - 1 pt.

Nom
Composer: Nathan Allen Pinard
Album: Gemini Rue
Track Title: Bonus - Credits
Track Number: 26
Year: 2010
Additional Information: Gemini Rue Original Soundtrack - VGMdb

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Any objections to me nominating something from Advance Wars: Days of Ruin? I recall there being some tracks in the last BSC (or possibly the one before it), but don't recall how high they ranked.

If I recall, the consensus was the music was good but they sounded like ass due to a terrible rip or terrible synth. Don't think any made it particularly far, and I'd be down with them being nominated, especially if the whole 'sounding like ass' problem has been fixed.

I'm pretty sure that's simply the result of attempting to use really high quality samples to compose the music and then compress them to hell when placed on the DS. I own the game, and that seems about right. I'd very much like to see some form of upgrade myself.

In the meantime, I can probably think of something more obscure needing attention.

I still love "Reclaiming the Island". This track, not nearly as much. But now that you mention Oil Blue, I should actually go listen to the entire album.

* Album: Music Contest 4 (The Hornet Archive)
* Artist: Siren (Alexander Brandon)
* Track Title: Universe Electric
* Year: 1996
* Additional Info: One of Alex's classic tracks from the Demo Scene days. He went by "Siren" at that time. I actually first heard this track back when "Carpe Diem" graced SotW, but for some reason I didn't think to nominate it until now.

(2 points) NiGHTS ~Journey of Dreams~ Original Soundtrack - Al-Di-La - Lavender Ver.

(2 points) Liquisity 2 - Gameplay 1

(1 point) Virgin Games Greatest Hits - Volume One - Victory (Robocop vs. The Terminator)

(1 point) Stahlfeder - Mission 3 - Sky Base

Have a request: Does anyone still have Week 243's tracks? I forgot to save them.

Yikes, we need more voters, stat! As I said before, the English language doesn't contain a word for "three week period", unless we want to round up and have it be "Song of the Month."

3 points: SUPER-REFLEX
2 points: Mission 3 - Sky Base
1 point: Victory (Robocop vs. The Terminator)
Just Missed: Pac Rainbow, Gameplay 1, BGM 2,

Liquisity 2... isn't out yet. Where did this come from? Very nice tune.

Holy crappppppppppppp SUPER-REFLEX. That groove at 1:28 is the best thing. Haven't heard Megalomachia2 yet but I was really disappointed with much of the first one, including Yasui's. (That last tune made up for everything, though. EVERYTHING)

Holy crappppppppppppp Sky Base. That transition at 0:43 that came out of nowhere, so cool. It loops way too quickly, though.

Awesome week, though some questionable noms, like the Journey of Dreams nom (OF ALL THE)

(Nom coming shortly!)

Additional Spam:
My next nom:

Album: Ninja Blade Original Soundtrack
Composer: Takahiro Izutani
Track: Searching
Track #: 1-14
Catalog #: XQEF-1003~4
Year: 2009
Source: XQEF-1003~4 | Ninja Blade Original Soundtrack - VGMdb
Additional Information: I've never played this game . Uploading to the FTP shortly.

I was really not enjoying this week because I was liking every track and panicking over how I would distribute my points. However I wasn't a fan of the last two tracks, thankfully. So here's my shotgun spread, including my own nom. One of the best fortnights in a long time (quality of this edition is better than 2x normal edition)!

WHERE ARE YOU PEOPLE

Also I am back so here are some point things:

3 points: Megalomachia2 - SUPER-REFLEX
2 point: Stahlfeder - Mission 3 - Sky Base
1 point: Liquisity 2 - Gameplay 1

I was a bit underwhelmed by the two Megalomachia albums, although my expectations for them were probably unreasonably high for them in the first place. Yasui's SUPER-REFLEX single-handedly redeemed both albums though, even the one it wasn't on. That middle section is a 500 carat diamond surrounded by solid gold.

Nice week.

First SotW website code update in like 5 years (seriously). The massive string of links for week navigation has been bugging me for years. Finally got around to replacing it with a selection box. If you're not using Javascript, you're screwed, but then again, what decade are you living in?
