Mobo confusion

So I'm confused. Now there is 939 and AM2? What is the difference? What is hot? What is trustable? What is the meaning of life?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

S939 hardware is dead.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

The only real difference between the two sockets, besides their obvious incompatability with each other, is that AM2 boards use DDR2 memory, and 939 boards use regular DDR. Performance is about the same, but AMD probably won't make any faster Socket 939 processors, so you should go AM2 if you want to be able to upgrade later.

There's no reason to buy Socket 939 hardware unless you can get a good deal on it, or if you have a LOT of DDR memory and can't afford to replace it.

As for your other three questions...Pentium D processors, no one, and 42.

How ya doing, buddy?

Correction: Core 2 Duo, no one ...maybe the cat and definately 42.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Hot as in popular... The other was hot as in temperature. Here's my 2 cents.

Answers: Kate Beckinsale; governments for taxes; I'll take 7.
