What's so special about Perrier?

Or any other fancy-pants sparkling mineral water?

I have this bottle of Perrier here, since my parents bought a whole case of it. Mom told me to try some, so I shrugged and took a bottle. I took my first sip just now, and... ugh, I think I'd rather have regular water.

I could understand Perrier's status if it were just like extremely high quality water, but carbonating it is such a huge turnoff. Do people actually enjoy that somewhat bitter/stale taste?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I don't know why people drink it by itself either. Perrier's only purpose is to water down stiff drinks and carbonate them without adding sugar that would normally come with something like Coke or 7Up.

However, I do use Perrier to make drinks for the ladies when they show up at my house. My favorite drink to make with it is called an "Isleña". You just pour rum, raspberry juice, Perrier and grenadine over ice and shake lightly.

My family has a thing for Perrier. I don't get it myself. It's carbonated water. It's lame. I'll pass. I like a nice, tall, icey cold glass of water much more.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Perrier lemon is horrid. Especially warm.

However, what I get less than carbonated water like Perrier is "exotic" or fancy types of straight up bottled water. If it weren't for the fact that their bottles are sturdier than your average bottled water, I'd never buy them.

Bottled water is dumb in general, but you can't really carry around a glass of water.

Perrier is amazing, but it depends where you get it. I had the real perrier in Italy, and it was leaps and bounds above the stuff you get here.

I was speaking idiomatically.

I always thought it was just club soda for mixing drinks. I never figured people drank it by itself.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

My mother and father have become absolutely addicted to Perrier. It probably started about six years ago, and I believe we've bought at least 3 cases every month since then. If you average 24 bottles per case, that's 72 bottles per month, 864 per year, and 5184 in the past 6 years.

If you were interested at all, that's $259.20 in CA cash refunds.
WOW that was pointless.

I agree. I bought a lemon flavoured Perrier one time and I found no taste to it what so ever. there wasn't even a hint of lemon, and it tasted kinda stale to me. but never having mineral water before, I wouldn't know what it tastes like to begin with. bottom line, I just didn't find it good

I don't see or taste anything special about Perrier either, however I do like the flavored aquafina water.

I've always experienced it as flavorless carbonated water. I find it blander and less satisfying than actually regular water. I stay away from it. My sister buys it from time to time, and I never understand why.

I think it's actually supposed to be healthier. Because when you take out all the minerals out of water because your body like takes in the nutrients diffrently or some like that. Basically you shouldn't have JUST water, it should have some zinc and magnesium in it (I think that's the minerals that should be in there).

How ya doing, buddy?
