[Movie] Movies/Shows you have seen recently?

Under instructions from Denicalis, I watched Boardwalk Empire today and I'm fucking IN LOVE with this show. It's a fictionalized account of Enoch Thompson (his real name was Enoch Johnson) and his Atlantic City exploits during Prohibition. The pilot was directed by Martin Scorsese and stars Steve Buscemi as "Nucky". Do yourself a favor and watch it.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I watched A Mighty Wind with the girlfriend last night. Probably one of the funniest movies I've seen in a long time and only makes you realize how utterly and shamefully wasted Eugene Levy's comedic talent was wasted on those movies with the Pie Fucker™.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

See, it was like that for me with Best of Show, which I just watched. As before, Eugene Levy is a massive standout in a movie that felt forced. It was still really funny though.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I recently (read: this week) started watching How I Met Your Mother since they have every season out on DVD up on Netflix streaming. I love Jason Segel and Alyson Hannigan but the real reason I love this show so much is clearly Neil Patrick Harris. If it wasn't for his character, Barney Stinson, this show would have tanked long before I even had a chance to see it.

About the only thing that annoys me on the show is the main protagonist Ted. Like, I really want to like him, but I can't get over how, even given the purposely ridiculous situations the characters get into, he's really just overly desperate to get married right from the opening frame of the show. Also, why was Britney Spears ever on this show, even as a throwaway character?
