Remember the old ROFLsomething game in #gfchat?
For the old GFF/#gfchat users. There used to be a game by Sonny (was it him) that was based of the ROFL copter meme. It was text based and worked by earning points or something of that kind to level up your character.
Can anyone remember this? Was there any reincarnation of this awesome game? Jam it back in, in the dark. |
You're thinking of Lolocaust.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |

It'd make an amusing Facebook game. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Ah yes. Lolocaust. That was fun. Any chance of seeing that game again?
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Doubtful, but it really shouldn't be that hard to replicate if you have the necessary skillz
I was speaking idiomatically. |
Unfortunately I don't have the necessary skills to replicate such awesomeness. Nevertheless, I find it quite amusing (and nostalgic) that such a thing which is now lost in the annals of the internet once brought great joy to a handful of lonely individuals.
Also, I'm looking for a nice text-based online game I can play with during my idle time at work. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
You have Facebook, right? There are tons of text-based online games you can toy with.
Unless work bans Facebook, that is. Most amazing jew boots |
Work bans everything. Or most of it. Facebook sucks anyway.
How ya doing, buddy? |
Is Progress Quest still going? That was a top game, if a little light on actual interactivity.
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
I actually forgot about Progress Quest and how simple it is. It's still available for download but I don't think it's updated or something.
Oh, due to the limited internet access I have in this office, I now have tried text adventure games! Welcome me to the world of interactive fiction where text and adventure combines to provide entertainment to bored industrial drones! I think the thread should be changed to: "Remember the old ROFLsomething game in #gfchat? a.k.a. Can you recommend good text-based browser games you can play while at work?" There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Since I don't have anything else to add, I'll just mention it was SonnyD64 that used to run the game.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
God, that game was such a bitch, with all those job-less bastards who apparently just sat there and F5'd until they noticed someone got new moneys/people and went nuts.
Shop at NYR's Hause of IMAG How ya doing, buddy? It was lunchtime at Wagstaff.
Touching butts had been banned by the evil Headmaster Frond. Suddenly, Tina Belcher appeared in the doorway. She knew what she had to do. She touched Jimmy Jr's butt and changed the world. |
NYR's Hause of Imag was, I believe, SonnyD's last modification to Lolocaust before he became too involved with reality - or whatever - and disappeared into the annals of GFF history.
NYR's Hause was supposed to have all sorts of interesting upgrades, and it did have a couple for starters, but it was never fully fleshed out. There were actually two Lolocaust games, Lolocaust (proper) and the faster, looser Lolotest, which granted users turns at a rate ten times that of normal Lolocaust. It was much easier to advance and have fun attacking people in Lolotest. I think Lolotest went on until Zerg and I were the last two people that cared, and we just sort of called an unofficial truce due to the fact that neither was going to gain a significant foothold against the other and the remaining people had long since become inactive. I was speaking idiomatically. |
