Got Corpse Bride a couple of days ago. Great music, but way too short, unfortunately.

Also, Alias Season 3. One of the best shows I've seen in recent years.
I'll be getting season 4 soon, hopefully, because I haven't seen that one.

I just bought a couple of Criterion releases. Among them the Bergman classic The Virgin Spring. No doubt another near-perfect release by Criterion.

i like how one has to rely on a foreign dvd production company to put out classic swedish cinema in a way that does it justice.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I picked up about 2 weeks ago the CD that I had been searching for forever! I know some other people wanted it as well.

Yoko Ishida: All of Me

The CD came with a gamecube-sized DVD that had a music vide and a 'making-of' featurette. The art on the actual disc is pretty too.

You guys should seriously give this movie a good spin in your DVD players. It's as compelling and gutwrenching as it is actually SCARY. Definitely the best documentary I've seen in recent years.

Beck - Guero

What a great CD, Beck is finally getting back into his old swing of things, some very Odelayesque stuff on this album, the remix cd, Guerolito, is great too...

The last piece of media I purchased was probably the first two seasons of Arrested Development. I do plan to order one of the Zero 7 albums soon, though.

I rented that a few days ago and I agree completely. It is seriously scarier than any horror film I've seen, probably because it's for real. Really insightful, check it out.

The Ultimate fighter season 1. Just got it a few minutes ago when I had to make a stop at wal-mart. It was TUF1 or Pride FC 1-5. I still think TUF1 was way better than TUF2.

Star Trek: The Motion Picture 20th Anniversary CD set.

A model for similar expanded relases, with tons of great new music from one of Jerry Goldsmith's best scores. If only they'd do the same for the other nine Trek movies (instead of the useless "Behind Star Trek" CD that came with this package).

Romantic, mysterious and with the right mix of strings, jazz and cheesy synth. Only had the score a few days, but it's already up there with The Lion in Winter, King Kong and Raise the Titanic as one of my favourite John Barry scores.

Kinda reminiscent of Braveheart and, aside from the bird calls (a welcome surprise and a nice gimmick), it's really nothing new from Horner. But there's something about it that really clicked with me when I first heard it so, when I had the chance to get it cheap (for a new CD), I snapped it up. A really good score from Horner.

One of the Sam Goodys around here is going out of business. 40% off of everything! ^^

I limited myself to Franz Ferdinand-You Could Have It So Much Better and The Arcade Fire EP, though depending on my willpower, I might run back out and buy some more stuff later.

Of course both albums are bloody good.

I got me a bunch of DVDs over the last few weeks:

-Seabiscuit
-Spy Game
-Steamboy
-Thirteen
-Born on the fourth of july
-The constant gardener
-War of the worlds (2005)
-Godfather trilogy

I saw Born on the fourth of july for the first time yesterday. It was excellent, as expected. I didn't understand Willem Dafoe's character to be honest. He shows up at the end and says "I killed babies in vietnam!" I found this hilarious for some reason.
