Holy mother, look what I found in FFXII.

Wow, that's one very grandiose final battle theme. Thanks, Skate! The song takes a while to kick in but I'm beginning to think that it's supposed to fit in with a multi-tiered final battle sequence like what was done for Parasite Eve (and, I believe, Kingdom Hearts II). Either that or the first three minutes or so are part of some cut-scene prior to the final showdown. The part that sets in around 4:15 is terrific. I like how it's very triumphant and grand, and very much in line with the more medievil theme of FF12. While it's certainly signature Sakimoto, I couldn't help but think how the melody is also reminiscent of Christopher Franke.

Let's just hope we don't fight underwhelming floating eggs with tentacles this time. That would be extremely anticlimatic.
