The Chappelle Show: The lost episodes

Well the first episode of "season 3" went on the air last night. Without Dave himself, instead Charlie Murphy and Ashy Larry hosted the show. The sketches were cool althought some of them seemed to lack a ending, like the final punchline wasnt recorded. They still had that chappelle feel to it though. It's ashame that it's only three episodes but what can you do.

Discuss bitches.

I saw the episode yesterday. It was pretty funny. I've been waiting for new chapelle for 2 years so it was nice to see new material again.

I thought the 2 Pac skit was the best.

Delicious. Even without Dave there, it still had that Chappelle Show feel.

I throughly enjoyed the 2Pac skit. I couldn't stop laughing.

Ah, some Chappelle is better than no Chappelle, but too bad this is probably the last we'll see of the show in these "lost" episodes.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Well you can always get his stand-ups. Althought it's been a while since a new one has been recorded.

Were these recorded earlier on when Dave was on that 'spiritual' retreat, or was this done recently, just without Chappelle's showing up?

Chappelle was in town about a month back for standup. Too bad his tickets were 40 dollars per person, otherwise I'd have gone. I saw the lost episode last night, and thought it was pretty funny. I liked the opening skit when everyone was robbing Dave. That, and the 2pac one was great. I wish Dave would come back, I loved the Cahppelle show when it first went on air.

There's only gonna be three episodes? Sheesh. I only saw half of it last night, but I thought I'd wait until it comes to DVD so I can buy it and put it with seasons 1 and 2, but it's kinda hard to make a DVD for three episodes... Guess I'll download it too.

The first episode was great. The 2Pac and "That's the old price," sketches were hysterical.

I guess one positive to come out of the show ending is that it'll never go on too long and start to suck, as things often do.

I agree with most people here that, even without Dave, last night's episode was great. Admittedly, this episode did feel a little disjointed without Dave setting up the sketches and such (though Charlie and Donnell still did a good enough job), but the sketches themselves were still fucking gold. Chappelle's Show without Chappelle is still funnier than most of the other stuff on TV, and even though it'll only be three episodes, I'll still get it on DVD (the upside to that DVD being that at least it'll be cheap).

If someone can find me a link to that 2Pac sketch, I'll be forever grateful.

I know I could torrent it, but I'll hold on off for that for like...a day. See if it pops up on Youtube.

Fucking hilarious, that was.

I think these were the ones that Chappelle did right before he "left". I guess he had his reasons, but I wish he did it for the sake of completing the season at least (unless he did it on purpose just so he can have something to be remembered by later on).

That sketch was pretty funny, thanks for the link Shenlon!

I loved the one where he had the woman divorce her husband. I wonder if thats his real wife? I know hes married to an asian woman.

The skits where great as to be expected. Chappelles mannerisms are what sells his stuff.

Am I the only one who thought these sketches were average at best? He's done way funnier stuff than this. I didn't think the sketches were thought out well enough and were somewhat predictable.

Like the one Akira just mentioned; no shit he tricked the woman - everyone knew he was going to do that when the sketch started. Because of that, it required a more powerful punchline or a twist, which it didn't have. Certainly Chappelle is good at selling a mediocre idea with his mannerisms, but that alone wasn't enough to make these truly stand out.

Yeah i agree but i also dont think you feel like that if Dave was still on. if there was a full season he would have done more skits to mix it up and it would have stayed at the same HQ as the other seasons. Right now i think Neil is just putting everything in and trying to get some money.
And im pretty sure some of these skits would have gotten cut by Dave himself, or atleast worked on, as i said in my first post, some of them just seem to lack a ending.

How ya doing, buddy?

Tupac skit was "meh". Not gut-bustingly hilarious >_> I think ya'll were just lacking new Chapelle stuff. Like Eleo said, this was average or so compared to his usual material. Ah well. I wasn't one of the crazy fanboys camping this show out for more episodes.

How ya doing, buddy?

Granted it's not better than some of the season 2 material, it's still Chappelle's Show. Chappelle's Show was/is the only reason I even watch television.
