All four members of the movie team -- Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Bill Murray and Harold Ramis -- will be giving voice and likeness rights for the game. Some supporting castmembers have signed up as well, including William Atherton, Brian Doyle Murray and Annie Potts.

Oh my! <3 There'll be two versions of the game, the uh, real one for 360, PS3 and PC, developed by Terminal Reality (probably most known/only known for the Blood Rayne games).. and a 'family friendly' (ie; Slimer board game/quiz/singing game confirmed) version for PS2, Wii and DS by shiny brand new developer, Red Fly. Also, Kokaku confirms multiplayer and co-op modes. *Everyone instantly crosses streams in deathmatch, game ends*

I'm trying my hardest not to cry tears of nerd joy here. There's been rumours of a new Ghostbusters game for about thirty billion e-years now, ever since mystery company Zootfly ninja posted a tech-demo video thing on YouTube.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Wow. This makes me want to see the two movies later on. I hope Rick Moranis comes back as well. Or is it not possible since he no longer has that geeky voice as Luis Tully. I'm sure he still has it somewhere ;p.

This has the potential to be very good, especially since it's not going to suffer from the usual "rushed to get out the door in time with the movie" thing you usually get with film tie-ins. That said, it could also end up being pants and relying on the brand too much. I've got my fingers crossed that it'll very much fall in the camp of awesomeness.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Well if Akroyd and Ramis are doing the writing as well, I'm sold. Hopefully they haven't succumbed to George Lucas disease in the intervening years.

*Everyone instantly crosses streams in deathmatch, game ends*
*world ends*

There were rumors that a third movie was going to be developed, but I'm guessing they've decided to make it into this video game series.

It LOOKS awesome. Too bad you know how to play.

(I wonder if they'll still show the NES Advantage controller on all platforms in GB2. DOUBT IT)

I thought I heard at one point that they were doing a GB3, but were insisting on it being CG on account of them all being old now. Guess they decided to go with a video game instead.

I gotta say, I will definetly be checking this out when more info surfaces. According to Gamestop, Bill Murray is also going to be reprising his role, so even we only have those three characters, still should be a solid game.

And what is...the magic word, Dr. Venkman?

Awesome news. I remember an interview Dan Aykroyd did earlier this year stating that Ghostbusters 3 was coming by way of being a game and maybe a CG-I movie as well.

I'll keep my eyes out for this one. <3

Oh my god!!!! Dream comes true!!! This is... ahhh.. I'm so speechless!

Glad to hear that the majority of the cast is back (especially that the original four will be reprising their roles), definitely hope Moranis makes it in. I mean, hey in GB2 was a ghostbuster, why not in the game? At least as a bonus or something.

So glad that they went with this route for the 3rd GB installment. Heh, movie wouldn't have really worked as well since their all so old now, plus Ramis really gained a few.

This news reminds me of the old school GB games for the NES, and how friggin' hard they were for me back then. I ended up using good ol Game Genie to basically go into god mode in order to beat them. I wonder if that's a trend that they will follow in this upcoming one.

I hated the original Ghostbusters game. Hated. ;__;

"Wow this is the first 2600 game I've heard with actual music! All my NES/SMS owning friends will be totally jealous. What am I.. supposed.. to.. do. Oh! This trap doesn't seem to even wor-why am I running down ghosts in my car that always drifts to the left? This music won't go away."

*LATER*

"Wow! There's a Ghostbusters game for Master System! Better rent this.. OH GOD IT'S THE SAME THING." Then the video store rental guy would knock on the window, and laugh before vanishing in a cloud of smoke.

New Ghostbusters II for NES was an awesome game. It only came out in Japan and Europe, but it was made by HAL Labs and a persistent but really cool arrangement of the Ghostbusters theme playing through most of it. If no one's played it, I suggest you do so. The best GB game to date.

Also, giant rampaging Stay Puft totally makes this new game.

WHAT DID YOU DO, RAY!?

Well, at the very least, the story elements should be entertaining. Here's hoping for a game that is up to just as much snuff.

Who are we kidding? If this game gets a Wii release, so long as I can point my blaster at some ghosts and blast them into oblivion, I'll be sold. Bill Murray vocals + shooting ghosts and trying not to cross the beams = love.

John Mayer just asked me, personally, through an assistant, to sing backup on his new CD.

Seriously...can you imagine shooting your proton beam at ghosts on screen with a wii-remote? There's still enough of a love for the series to make this game work on any system...I really hope they follow through with this.

Yeah my brother told me about this the other day. When I was a kid, I watched GB1 so much that I'd recite EVERY SINGLE LINE as I watched it ='D The pic sold me <3 Preordering so hard.

Some real footage (though too bad they showed more of the first movie, than the game itself)! Protonpack and trap action and the PKE meter, plus footage of Slimer and Stay Puffed!. Looks like the game's system will be similar to RE4 and Gears of War. And so far it appears that we'll be reliving the first movie, hopefully the game is much more than that.
