One of my friends back home (and maybe you know her...Jessica from Litho/Mr. P's drawing classes?) posted on Myspazz about the festival not too long ago. I really would love to go...but I can't. Since I'm in Tejas.

BUT -- I get South By Southwest. I think it's an even trade .

But OMG Manu Chao, and GOGOL BORDELLO!!!
They better bring their slavic gypsy asses back to Austin for SXSW...

Oh dear. If I could possibly be there, lord knows I would. Just to see them.

I know it's just a one time deal, but fuck do I wish they'd dump Chris Cornell and this Audioslave bullshit and get back Zach and reform Rage proper.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

As much as SXSW sounds fun, I can't possibly ditch The Arcade Fire this year. I REALLY want to see them live. <3

My god. Brother Ali, The Decemberists, The New Pornographers, The Black Keys, Regina Spektor, Ghostface, Air, Explosions in the Sky, The Roots, and, (Last, but most definitely not least), the fucking Coup. I'm so jealous of California right now.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Wow. Rage Against the Machine actually getting together for that gig? Other than them and Rodrigo y Gabriela, none of the bands really interest me. I wish there was an American metal festival of this caliber. All the good ones are in Europe.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Yeah, apparently April is the only time anyone east of the Mississippi is jealous of California.

Every year around this time I get jealous of Californians because they get Coachella. There are some amazing acts on that list, and I'm stuck in god damn Nova Scotia. Bullshit ;_;

Rage Against The Machine reuniting and Red Hot Chili Peppers, yeah ok. Too bad I don't have a spare 5000 American pesos.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Screw the Chili Peppers. Nobody's going to see them in particular; they're going to see bands like The Arcade Fire, The Decemberists, Regina Spektor, LCD Soundsystem and The New Pornographers are playing that night too. I mean, sure the Peppers are pretty good, but if I have my choice between them and The Arcade Fire, Canada is going to win this round. <3

So really guys... Is anyone else planning on going to this? Because I already have a group of 3 confirmed with me, including my adopted godson. Who wants to meet up out there and hang out to watch 72 hours of non-stop shows?

Does that mean you may possibly come to Austin someday for SXSW? You really should. Because it's amazing.

I don't know how they are scheduling out the acts on the days but I know from going to Bonnaroo that it was tough trying to decide between different bands that were playing at the same time. Have fun making those decisions.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Oh man, so many bands I've never heard of. But from what I know, Arcade Fire is gonna rock. I've heard one single from Rodrigo y Gabriela and I liked their stuff. Crowded House? They only have one hit in the 80s. And about RHCP, there will definitely have those hard core RHCP fans there, although Stadium Arcadium is drab.

Jam it back in, in the dark.
