Hard dive space disappearing

I have windows vista home premium (probably is the issue).
My C: drive is 500GB, I ONLY have windows and my programs on it, in total it takes up 37GB. (All my other stuff and downloads is on my other 500GM drive)

As each day goes by the space on the C: gets eaten up. I have the system restore disabled (which helps) I use the disk cleaner, I clean my cache and cookies, I even use CCcleaner! The space still gets eaten up... about 1 gig a day or two...

What is it that's eating up the space? is there a way I can delete the extra data or at least STOP whatever it is from filling up my C: drive?

Its gotten to the point that I just format C: when the drive gets full. Help!

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I remember at one point seeing a virus that would add data to the recycle bin every time you restarted the computer, and it was in a way that when you tried to empty the bin, it still wouldn't reclaim the area.

Have you tried running various virus/spyware scans?

There's nowhere I can't reach.

WinDirStat - Windows Directory Statistics

Use it, love it.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Will WinDirStat tell me what data is useless and allow me to delete it?

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

It'll tell you what data is taking up all the space and where on your hard drive it is located. It'll also let you delete it from within the program.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Excellent....
I will give it a try. I recently formatted my C: drive so right now it is fine. Only time will tell if the drive gets eaten up again, if so, that will be a great test for this program.
Thanks!

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?
