Since I am a huge SMT fan, I am certain this teaser deserves its own topic.
No doubt about it being a new SMT title. Most definitely another Devil Summoner due to the demons that are shown in the site.
Countdown till August 1st so stay tuned. Can't wait to see what shows up.

i really hope it's not devil summoner. I'm hoping for Shin Megami 4 , it has been too long. If it's devil summoner, i won't get it..the last one had a horrible battle system and i'm not going to put myself through that agains:s.

Edit: Info from NeoGaf hints it's pretty much Devil Summoner 2 (ps2?), God let it be turn based!!!! :-(

Well, a lot of people are hoping for it to be SMT4 regardless of whatever hints may be popping up. Especially since it's been a long time from it's announcement that it could very well be vaporware at the moment.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

The cat is a big hint that it's another Devil Summoner. If it is Devil Summoner 2, it probably won't be turned based.. :\

But either way, I do hope it's another SMT, and on the PS3 (or 360). I've been itching for a next gen SMT for as long as I can remember (since PS3 purchase).

And on the side note, if there IS an SMT on the 360, that would be THE console seller for me.

Well, it really depends. If it's Devil Summoner 2, then it's probably real-time like Raidou Kuzunoha versus the Soulless Army. But Devil Summoner isn't a series that's tied strongly to each predecessor, so if there's no "2," it could really mean any kind of battle system.

Yup, it's Devil Summoner 2 for ps2. The screens looks pretty good, but the battlesystem is still the same..sigh*. But it does look like it's updated, still i'm glad it's for the ps2..i can play it for free

The game will also include a new version of Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne, which will either change the protagonist to Raidou or Dante will be removed in favor of Raidou. No one's quite sure yet.

The latter seems to be the better bet to make.

I liked Soulless Army a lot, but I hope they turn down the random encounter rate. I know high random encounter rates are a staple of SMT, but going into battle every two seconds really threw me out of the jazzy cool detective mood.

I hope they make me give a shit about combat, quite frankly. The encounter rate combined with the boring ass battles just didn't help things.

Well, it's been announced that the game is coming over to the US as Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner - Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon, and every launch copy comes with a Raiho plushie. Atlus has also been emphasizing how small of a release the game will be getting, so I'll probably preorder it.

I've been told that this is less of a sequel and more of a do-over, with much of the game's development focusing on fixing the problems with the battle system and demon AI. Much of the game's music and scenery are the same, primarily because of its much smaller budget.

I've heard very good things, though. And from the videos I've seen on Youtube, battles barely look similar.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Along with that, it also seems that this game was one of the leaked games that was posted on Amazon which forums; GAF and gaming news site; Siliconera have posted the full list of ATLUS games that were leaked.

The leaked stuff is more like the Dokapon Journey or Super Robot Wars OG Saga releases.

Every copy that Atlus is shipping is like that, actually. It's part of the deal about how the game is getting an extremely limited print.

Unless Amazon's got some new, special goodies that they're choosing not to reveal yet.

I don't get why a lot of people hated Raidou vs the Soulless Army, I thought it was an amazing game, much more enjoyable than P3 or P4 to me. What the hell is Gouto doing in those screenshots? He's not even supposed to be there!
