Sheik is hardly a ninja anyways, it's just Zelda with white rags covering her face. I meant an actual true ninja from a game about ninjas; Nintendo doesn't have any.

Okay yeah, I shouldn't post at 2am. But regardless, I would think she qualifies *shrug*. Just based on Melee anyways. Ninja vanish, throwing kunai, wiggly wire of doom.

But yeah, you're right that there aren't any Nintendo Ninjas named specifically as such.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

So I guess Ryuu Hayabusa (NES Ninja Gaiden) doesn't count then..?

No character could've been as bad as Mr.Game and Watch. So I figured Kuros would have a chance. If not him, then the stages and theme songs ;p.

Nope. Ninja Gaiden was made by Tecmo, and it was moved to the Xbox.

Mr. Game and Watch was awesome, and he was a Nintendo character. Kuros outright sucks ass and he WAS NOT a Nintendo character, in fact he's not even recognized by anyone, and was made by a company that was notorious for making bug-ridden, sloppy games that couldn't even be given away. You seriously have to learn the difference between what Nintendo made and what they didn't. They're not about to ask for the rights for exceedingly lame characters and music from dead, unpopular companies simply because you laughably call the droning, contrived 35-second audio loops in that game to be slightly catchy.

Seriously, that's great; completely undermine the multi-man orchestra hired for Smash Bros. Brawl by letting them cover a song that was made by one of Acclaim's shitty sound composers while hungover from a bender the previous night in which he lost his sense of hearing.

Despite popular belief, Bowser is actually closer to his original size in relation to Mario than he has been in a long time...

In this Mario is roughly half as tall as Bowser...

...and in this Mario is roughly half as tall as Bowser...

...Some resizing huh?

So now lets see how big that would make Ridley. Could only find a decent Super Metroid screenshot, so that will have to do...

So Ridley is easily twice as big as Samus, if not more...so that would make Ridley much too large for any decent resizing.

Got it?

hope this hasn't been mentioned yet, but it's late and i don't want to read back through 40 pages of this (3 or 4 was enough).

it would be cool for them to expand the 1-player mode a bit - maybe a mini-game based on the character's identity. for example, if you played the "story mode" as link, you'd save zelda from ganon, if you played as ganon, you'd find the triforce or battle link or something (it would be cool for evil to win in those situations). i don't know how well that mode would work, but i'd guess they'd at least have the space on the disc to do this (4.9ish GB compared to gamecube's 1.5).

relating to recent posts, sonic would be awesome, and ridley could be resized (though i do see what MTGNecro means by bowser being close to his original size, i don't think that was the intent of the developer. for example, bowser is HUGE in mario sunshine compared to mario, and in mario 64 he is more than 2 times his size at least).

the things that are bad about ridley being in the game would be ability to run and attacks, but they added tons of that stuff to other characters, so there's no reason that can't work. and if you complain that they gave ridley attacks he didn't originally have, look at most of the other characters.. since when could you punch people in metroid games?

The main problem with Ridley is that I can't picture what his movelist would be like. Let me give it a shot...

B: Fireball Burst (He exhales a spread-shot of fireballs, random how many fireballs he shoots; sometimes it's just two, sometimes it's five; can be done in the air)

Up+B: Ascension charge (He twirls up into the air with his wings, surrounded by energy, nothing really special)

Forward+B: Beak lunge (Sort of like Bowser's Forward+B move; he lunges forward and bites with his beak, and if it hits close, it grabs the character and tapping B causes him to repeatedly bite)

Down+B: Tail plunge (he comes down on fools with the spade at the end of his tail brandished)

Also, he can stay in the air for extended periods of time, while swiping with his claws (A button).

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

What do you reckon the replayability factor might be? For SSBM, it was the trophies but they wouldn't put that in again, would they?

I know I asked before but it seemed no one answered my question (either that or there weren't many ideas).

And I agree, it's hard to see Ridley translated onto SSBB.

Hmmmm, I'm not too sure, but I think Ridley from the original Metroid was a lot smaller than its later versions. But then again, Kraid was also a lot smaller in the original, but pretty much stayed huge in the later versions. I do think they changed Zero Mission's Kraid and Ridley to the Super Metroid versions.

Hey guys, hardware limitations. Things on the NES had to be smaller, it has nothing to do with characters suddenly growing or shrinking in the storyline arc.

Plus, MTGNecro, if Mario was Super Mario in that shot he'd be just as tall as Bowser. But that doesn't mean it has anything less to do with sprite size limitations.

It just seemed like a few people were basing size on original sprites so I wanted to just point it out. But true, if he was super Mario, he would be roughly as tall as Bowser, hair and all.

Another thought just occured to me. If anything they would probabley use a slightly smaller version of Ridley that is shown in the SSB:M intro. Can't believe I forgot about that. But I feel that if they made Ridley into the game, alot of the more casual gamers(namely those not on GFF) would say,"Wait a minute....I thought Ridley was bigger/smaller than this."

And yes. I remember Ridley being smaller too, but still a bunch larger than Samus was. Couldn't find a decent screenshot bigger than 50x50 though :/

I was speaking idiomatically.

Isn't that what his taunt and the mushrooms are supposed to allow? Actually, they may make him bigger than Bowser. Hmm...

Speaking of Megaman is it too implausible to consider him or X a character in this? Can we consider the possibility of Capcom jumping into the fray? I don't think we should rule it out yet, because Megaman and X both made their debut on Nintendo consoles.

Very True, but I would still greatly doubt it. They would have included him in a previous game if they could. Although some RE characters would be awesome

I'd consider Megaman and Megaman X being possible candidates for the roster. At least they aren't as outlandish or as bad as some of the other characters other people suggested.
