E3 2014
With E3 coming up next month, I figured I'd just start my annual thread a little bit early. As always this is the place for E3 releases, talks, trailers, etc. I'm starting it off with the trailer from the new Call of Duty game and Arkham Knight (granted, they are not E3 trailers, but something's better than nothing), and more will be added as they start being released.
Hopefuls to see this year: Final Fantasy 15 Kingdom Hearts 3 *maybe* a God of War PS4 game (nothing's been said, but still hopeful a surprise) new Phoenix Wright titles Batman: Arkham Knight Gameplay and more to be added. Jam it back in, in the dark.

The new Hidetaka Miyazaki game will be officially announced at E3 most likely.
I've seen the trailer and it looks pretty gud. Very Souls-ish, though. There's nowhere I can't reach.  |

It'll be interesting to see whether any companies have been able to make decent use of the new hardware yet and what Watchdogs looks like a year on. It's a shame that everything seems to be a sequel now but the video game industry has become almost as risk averse as Hollywood lately in terms of making new stuff rather than churning out endless repetitions of established IPs. I'm planning on getting a PS4 at some point this year, assuming there are some games that aren't Battlefield and CoD. A big rpg would be nice! How ya doing, buddy?   |

Nah, Arkham Knight is just going to have use of the Batmobile this time. I'm hoping for an epic conclusion to the Arkham series by Rocksteady. Asylum and City were so amazing. Origins was ok for it not being made by Rocksteady.

Looks like Nintendo is going to stick with delivering the announcements DIRECTly, to us. The only games I'm looking forward to outside of Nintendo's stuff are Arkham Knight, Kingdom Hearts 3, and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
If we can get an approximate release date on MGS5, that'll be awesome. They'll probably make another 14 minute trailer with gameplay, but what more do we need to see at this point? If you've already played Ground Zeroes, I think we have a pretty good idea of how Phantom Pain will play (except there will be more areas). I can't stress enough how there needs to be a new Star Fox game, NOT for the 3DS but for the WiiU. Think there's a chance we'll see some stuff regarding Mighty No. 9 at E3? I was speaking idiomatically. |

My wish list for this year's E3:
Kingdom Hearts 3 - it's still coming! (not expecting a release date or anything, just a nod) Layton vs. Wright - this game will be available as soon as the Nintendo Direct is over in the eShop! (seriously guys, come on, i'm running out of drool) X - a tentative release date would be nice, along with more details. game looks awesome. Nintendo's first party game - Starfox? Metroid? F-Zero? Any of these things would be sweet to have on my WiiU. (Honestly, all i want in life is an online multiplayer version of F-Zero GX.) FF XV - i like FF games. Layton - not sure whether with the completion of the prequel trilogy they'll change their steady one-a-year release schedule, but i hope not. Things i'm not expecting to see but wish for: FF XIV expansion - it's a little early for this. but i need some reason to convince my friends to come back. Eorzea is lonely. Unfinished Swan - not that it really needs a sequel, but Sony baited me so hard by using this game's music for the opening and closing for their show last year. Want more short beautiful games like it though. Third party support for WiiU - i'm just waiting for someone to do something extremely clever with that gamepad and make a hugely successful game. Even better if it was someone outside of Nintendo's first- and second-party developers, maybe we might see a few more companies willing to dive in and apply themselves to making the console work for them instead of just kind of throwing things at it sheepishly like it's going to eat them. I'd love it if Layton vs Wright got a physical release but lol Capcom.
I would like to think we'd see a next-gen Castlevania game, but with Lords of Shadows 2 just coming out recently, probably not. Symphony of the Night 2 would be amazing if it's kept 2-D but given a really lush and beautiful background. Wishful thinking but it would be awesome if Nintendo announced a third-party deal with Sony. But yeah, wishful thinking. I don't see Microsoft lasting too long in the console market with as much as Sony has spanked them lately. Of course I wouldn't mind an announcement of a firmware update for PS3/PS4 that would allow the playing of PS2 games... What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

I am most interested in Kingdom Hearts 3. I liked the first game the best when there was a better balance of Disney and Squarenix. It dawned on me that it's been nearly 10 years since KH2. I've played the handheld games and invested in the KH universe, but honestly the plot is too convoluted for their own good and the characters aren't particularly interesting (at least not to be anymore). I just want to see how this ridiculous cross-over series ends.

Sad news that Arkham Knight was delayed until 2015  , but the bright side it gives me time to get a PS4 before it releases.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

A few decent titles, but nothing that makes me want to go out and buy an XBONE. I was speaking idiomatically.

This Amiibo shit is retarded, but nice of Nintendo to give a nod to Luigi Death Stare. Mii Fighter is a great addition to Smash Bros, and Yoshi's Wooly World is... unexpected, but damn that is pretty cool
