iPod 6th generation

Ah, yes iPod. 5th generation with video added, but 6th generation? I personally don't know, but there are tons of rumors that there is such thing as "6th" generation. [supposted to have touch wheel on the screen.]

I doupt there is such thing unless it is verified by Apple. (beside, it is dumb idea.)

Now discuss.

I don't get the idea it'd be very durable, or the battery life is going to be too attractive, seeing as it's going to have to power a hard drive and also a screen that fills the entire player.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

That's what the 3 month revision of it will be for.

I wonder if they'll do the same "smaller and smaller" revision routine again.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

That's really nice, but that just doens't make sense. The album is called 'Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not'.

I like those fan made mock ups. The battery life would probably be really shitty though.

Yea, like I said. I don't trust craps going around unless it is verified by the officials. Glad you guys agree.

Anyways, it looks like iRiver photoshoped.

I am going to compare my iPod 5th with my friend's nano and see if the size looks right. Than going to try it with iRiver.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

These were going around before the 5th gen revision was released. Old news.

Not sure how viable the idea is. Surely if they can make it work it'd be great, but I think the current iPod is really pretty good for video. I wouldn't want to watch a whole lot of video portably anyway. What I like about the iPod now is that you can take 640 x 480 H.264 and hook your iPod up to a TV and show it. Now that action's gonna look pretty damn good, no matter which way you slice it.

Personally, I hate the touch wheel on the current iPods. Often, when I try to press buttons, it picks up movement on the scroll wheel, and fucks with the volume, etc. I barely even move my thumb during the press; I guess it's just because I'm pressing it an angle sometimes.

I like seperate tactile buttons.

Touch screen controls would be shitty as fuck. It would mean I would have to be looking at my iPod every time I wanted to change a track or adjust the volume, because I couldn't just tell where the controls are by feeling it. Real fucking great when I'm trying to use it while driving my car, for instance.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Only if you have a regular TV, and if you can afford an iPod, you should have an HDTV by now.

The PSP is much better for video. If you want to watch on TV, use a fucking DVD.

I thought the iPod only exported a video resolution of 320x240...

Until the latest revision, you were correct. In fact, now ALL of the 5th gen iPods support 640 x 480 H.264. My guess is that Apple got a more efficient decoder which allowed them to merely update the iPod's software and provide for this functionality. Still, cool beans though.

And no, the PSP is not much better for video, because the last time I checked, you couldn't even encode content at the native size of the screen. The only videos that were actually the screen's resolution were UMDs. So yeah, the screen's bigger, but people had to use 320 x 240, which was then stretched. However, since I really don't have an interest in portable gaming, I don't follow PSP news, so they may have updated that, I don't know.

Then again, the PSP isn't really an iPod replacement. I mean, if portable video is your primary goal, that's fine, but even then, the PSP is a game system first. I want a music player first and foremost, and if it plays video well too, that's just a bonus feature.

Besides, yes, 640 x 480 is not QUITE DVD resolution for SD content, but it's very very close. On an HDTV even, it'll look pretty fantastic. Not as good as actual HDTV of course, but pretty good. I certainly remember 640 x 480 content on my last HDTV piped out from my laptop's DVI port looked very good.

Just an FYI on the 5th gen:

Quote:
Video support H.264 video, up to 1.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per sec., Baseline Low-Complexity Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48 kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; H.264 video, up to 768 Kbps, 320 by 240 pixels, 30 frames per sec., Baseline Profile up to Level 1.3 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48 kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per sec., Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48 kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats
And does anyone else NOT want the wheel on the screen, you know, where you'll smudge it? :\

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

The photos have been proven as fakes.

I hope they DON'T do it. Imagine the battery drain.
