Bionic Commando: Rearmed -- Remake of the NES Game <3

I need a new set of pants.

It's an improved version of the original game, probably in honor of the sequel that is being put together. New weapons, 3D graphics (still a 2D sidescroller), and new interactive abilities. You can grab and throw enemies as well as pick up and lob objects =D

This may seem pretty "meh" to younger folks, but I'm interested in trying it, since it was one of my favorites on the NES~ <3 Anyhow, it'll be available on the 360 game network thingamajig as well as the PS3's.

Jam it back in, in the dark.
Hey, maybe you should try that thing Chie was talking about.

This can only be good considering, no offense Gech, that the NES version is a game that is quite often panned.

I played it and I hated it, "This isn't Mega Man!"

Bionic Commando was kinda fun. It was definitely different. This remake looks pretty sweet though. I wish they still kept the Nazi stuff though like in the uncensored version.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I've only played the demo, and while I enjoyed it for the most part, there was nothing there that compelled me to buy the full version for $10. May get it if it ever goes on sale, but I have way too many games in my backlog right now to justify getting this one at the moment.

I have to say though, I did enjoy the challenge rooms the most out of ehat I played. It's more of a puzzle game more than anything, and it was fun trying to not only figure out how to beat the room, but then actually executing in a speedy manner as well.

I loved all the references to the old translation. Especially when you get the 'Pills.'

"Wait a minute, this looks like a liquid."

Sorely disappointed that there's no online multi, but still worth the $12.50.

The cheekiness of the demo impressed me. Every snippet of dialog runs along some way of telling you that you suck for not buying the full game.

When you hack into the enemy HQ:

"Sir! Sir! Someone's playing the game without buying it!"
"Relax, soldier. It's called a demo. In the full game, our army will launch thousands of soldiers in glorious sacrifice to our cause!"
"Do... I have to be... in the full game, sir?"
"Yes."
"That's just... great..."

And the robot that you encounter at the end of the level tells you that it can't engage boss fight mode because you haven't bought the game, and the commando goes "Wait, come back! I want to kill you properly!"

Would I be the only person who could say that the humor drove me to buy the game more than the gameplay? I don't have the love boner for the original because I never played it.

The gameplay came first for me in my decision to get the full game, but that above quote at the end of the demo was definitely an influence

So yeah, picked up this yesterday, played through to the first boss, game is pretty fun so far, and given I never played the original game, this will probably be an factor in how much I enjoy it, since I don't have the old game to either reference or rely on for comparison

It really is too bad that you haven't played the original. You mentioned the quotes between soldiers in the demo, but there's some good conversations between enemy soldiers that either use quotes from the old NES version or make fun of them. Big time nostalgia.
"Sometimes you annoy me so much I think my head is going to explod."

"Don't you mean 'explode', sir?"

"That's it! You're so peeling potatoes!"

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Isn't the trickery to the game is for you to use your hook and not jump, kind of an intentional thing.

But seriously ever since I purchased this game on PSN i have not played anything else recently...amazing remake

Isn't this exactly the kind of reply that got you banned?

I had this game on Nintendo and I never completed the first level. I thought it was a horrible game, I hated using that stupid claw!

The remake isn't bad at all. I really enjoy the physics and how much easier it is to get around.

My only gripe is that the main character looks like Wesker with red hair.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Also, the second player actually kinda does look like Duke Nukem in co-op.
Cause he playin' homerun derby, Garr. Seriously, though, is co-op worth fucking with? No online to mess with it yet, but what are we looking at?
