I think one of the kids down the road still has my gold OOT cart. I'm not sure which one, but everyone knows it's mine. It'll be passed around for generations, the sacred treasure of West Busselton. It's been about 6 years since the game has lived at my house.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
I gave away my saturn and all my games for 20 bucks.
Years later I regret doing that. I miss playing Panzer Dragoon and Virtue Cop. How ya doing, buddy? |

When my Friend purchased a Super NES I let him borrow a few of my games, a few years later he decided to send only half of them back to me because he believed to have purchased the other half. Among those games he "purchased" was Super Mario All Stars, which then was the best game I had and Starfox. I know this isn`t giving them away but it sure felt like it in the end.

This has happened to me twice. (1) I traded in No One Can Stop Mr Domino and Parasite Eve for something I don't remember. (2) I sold my Neo Geo AES (with Samurai Shodown 2 and KOF '96) and my Neo Geo CD (with Sonic Wings 2 Special, Samurai Shodown 3 & 4, Last Blade, Samurai Shodown RPG, and Final Romance) for some lower than expected amount. Ever since that last one I've decided never to sell or trade in a game, until I run out of space. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
I was always deathly afraid of losing my games. Any of them. I did make a blunder of a trade by trading Secret of Mana for San Fransisco Rush 64, which was a good game for the time but not a very deep game by any stretch of the imagination. I lament that decision.
At th time, my best friend left for San Francisco when I was around 9, and he left Bionic Commando over at my house by accident. I really didn't like the game at the time but its since grown into one of my favorites and is especially neat because the game reminds me of him. (I wonder what he's up to these days?) FELIPE NO

I lent Super Mario Bros. and Kirby's FU***NG Adventure to a girl in my ex corridor and went back home over the summer. When I got back, the bitch had moved(!) and "forgotten" to give the games back to me. I never saw her or the games again. I'm still dreaming of meeting her somewhere so I can tell her off. Fucking thief.
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Last year I gave up almost all my N64 games which were a pain in the ass to get: Paper Mario, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Mario Party 2 & 3, Mario Tennis, Perfect Dark and many more. Most of the games that i sold were kinda hard to get (at least here).
I was so desperate on getting a Ps2 that my mind went blind for some time. I was thinking: "Well, I can still play them on the Wii when they're available" STUPID RARE THAT WON'T RELEASE THEIR GAMES ON THE WII!! I'm still enjoying the PS2, but I don't think there was need for such a sacrifice. I miss Pefect Dark =( I wasn't THAT stupid though. I kept Goldeneye and Snowboard Kids which are games that we still play every weekend. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
I lent my copy of Katamari Damacy to this girl I was crazy for, and now we don't speak anymore. She also has some of my manga. I'm going to college soon and she's in China so chances are I'm never seeing any of it again. I hope I can find another Katamari Damacy copy though.
Besides that, I went to my other house for the majority of this year and last, and there were still people living here. I took some of my games with me cause of PS3, but when I came back I was missing 9 games. Its not really lending and trading as much as being stolen from (I looked everywhere). So thats 9 less games I own. (Ninja Gaiden, Dead or Alive 3, HALO, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, Super Mario Sunshine, Skygunner, Virtual On: Marz, and Dragon Ball Z Budokai) There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Does it count if I'm not actually the one who did the giving-away?
As a kid I had a C64. Tons of classic games, including a hacked version of Gyruss that let you specify up to 255 lives when you booted the game (any higher than that and the addressing problems were masked by a hilarious error that said "There are limits to all good things.") Well, every mom knows that computers are just for playing games. So, when I got my Genesis for my 8th birthday, I didn't need that silly old Commodore anymore. Sold. Garage sale. $15. It wasn't until much later that I realized the true horror of what she had done. Similarly, for a while we had a (crappy) old IBM PS/2 with a (decidedly not-so-crappy) IBM Model-M keyboard. Got rid of the whole shebang when we got a (turned-out-to-be-just-as-crappy-god-damn-I-hate-Celerons) HP Pavilion with an (also-crappy) HP "Too goddamn many media player buttons" keyboard. I need to mod a Model-M keyboard to connect to a C64. That would be pretty badass. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. It is not my custom to go where I am not invited. |
