random question
who here can do a backflip on a trampoline? Not even landing on your feet, but just backflip and landing right on your stomach "moonsault"
I was on one recently and tried backflipping and landed right on my neck and shoulders the whole time. After 20 times of failing, I finally did one, but it was more of an accident. After that, I thought I could muster up some balls and do some awesome backflips, but after that one successful one, I just kept landing on my neck and shoulders. The next day I was aching in those areas, but what really pissed me off was that I thought nearly everyone could do it, its just getting the confidence to do it. I admit, I held back but after landing on my neck so many times, youd think it would be easier. But really, its not =/ Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Nope.... can't do one. In fact, I am scared to even try. I just have this fear of landing on my head and breaking my neck. Everytime I see Carl Edwards in Nextel Cup do it off his racecar, I cringe.
Yeah, I don't expect myself to be doing one anytime soon. Even though people have challenged me to do it. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Never tried. Really, whenever a trampoline opportunity presents itself to me, at the time I can't believe my luck, and I'm content with just the sensation of bouncing rigidly straight up and down with a gleeful look on my face. It's only after I've moved on from the trampoline that various fanciful ideas about all the amazing things I could have done with my trampoline time enter my head.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Never tried a backflip. I use to do frontflips...but I haven't set foot on a trampoline in 2 years. I'm too scared to do a backflip.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
25 to life on probation |
There's a trampoline at my mother's house and I'm proud to say that I can do a backflip and a frontflip. I can also do a handstand on the corner bar and flip off the trampoline onto my feet.
Strangely it never ended badly or in anything that would make it to a home video show. I was speaking idiomatically. |
I am not sure I wanna try, my friend did and it backfired and is paralized to from the neck down. He has had stem cell surgery and is doing good, he just has to work on his walking.

I've done this, because I was on a gymnastics squad for a semester and got use of trampolines. I'm usually scared of flipping, but I was able to do rotations and stuff pretty easily just because I'm short, but I often never had the correct techniques and stuff. Ah, trampolines are fun. I haven't been on one since though. I wonder if I could muster up the courage to do crazy stuff again.

Did he land on the hard outside ground? Or was he really just attempting a backflip in the middle of the trampoline? Jam it back in, in the dark. |

Never been able to do any sort of flip on a trampoline. I haven't even got the whole jumping up and down thing while staying on my feet yet. I suck at trampoleaning (sp)

I tried once on a trampoline and landed on my head / neck and it hurt quite a bit, so I never really tried again.
It's always funny watching people try to do things like backflips / somersaults / cartwheels when they fail. How ya doing, buddy? |
I've never tried it, though I've allways had a trampoline before I moved. I never really did any front flips either. Reason being is because I'm always a little bit scared.

I really don't want to risk doing a backflip on a trampoline. The few times that I jumped on a trampoline back in elementary school at a friend's house, I was always sloppy with my directions. I don't even want to imagine what it would feel like to do a backflip, only to land on the metal ring.

I used to trampoline almost every day up until about 7th grade. I got pretty good at some pretty sweet maneuvers and I could even do a front flip pretty well, but the backflip was always kind of a daunting thing to try for me.

I've never seen a trampoline in my life but i could probably do it.
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Not on a backyard trampoline, but I went to this place that was a warehouse converted into one huge trampoline (well, segmented anyways). Pretty cool place. I pulled it off there, but I haven't been on a trampoline since.

I can do front flips all day on them, but back flips never worked out. The trampoline my neighbors used to have was on the side of a hill (because it just worked out that way) and I would always land close to the bars when I tried a back flip. So that kinda scared me away from attempting them.

Wark! |
Yup.
Once you get good at getting good height and not moving to far on ust a regular bounce then the backflip isnt so hard. Just start bouncing really high, then "throw" it. If you are attempting a backflip for the first time, try a back tuck. Where you tuck your knees up to your chest and grab you shins or just below your knees. Its way better to over-rotate on a backflip than under-rotate. The lay-out slows your rotation down. Where you flip with your legs extended. Thats the best way to control rotational speed while in the air. I can to a backflip on the ground, too. Not standing, but a round-off to back-tuck. I still cant do that running front flip, but I'm working on it. Nofirefrog This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
I used to be able to do just about anything on a trampoline, including somersaults, backflips, handflips, anything. Then, one day I realised I was too damn tall when I nearly fell off - which would have left me with a broken back or worse. Sold it after ten years of love last summer I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |

I honestly doubt I'd even be able to get to land on my neck or shoulders at all. Few years ago though, I was fucking nuts about trampolines; the few friends who had them I would always pester to go on them.
IS IT TIME FOR THE TRAMPOLINE. I was speaking idiomatically. |

I used to do them all of the time when I was younger, though I am certain I wouldn't even attempt it now. I would definitely break my neck.

LOL FAG! |
I went on a bouncy castle at my mates 22nd birthday a few months back. We got into a competition of who could do the most daring tricks. We did front flips, back flips, side flips (kinda like cartwheels) and then we started wrestling. Fun.
And last time I was on a trampoline was in our back garden at my old house. I was jumping around like a bunny on crack, slammed into a tree branch and was knocked out cold. My sister said I bounced 3 times before she realised I was unconscious. Most amazing jew boots |
I can't even do a handstand without falling flat on my uncoordinated ass, so that good sir would be a NO. XD
