Tranformers return to the silver screen

^ Has a pretty neat video clip from ComicCon.

I'm moderately excited. The animation style isn't exactly "classic" by any stretch of the imagination, but it's reasonably good considering temporary American animation styles.

Thoughts?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Ugh...

What the hell is up with that girl at the end? Or should I call her "motorcycle and rocket human girl robot thing" instead?

There's nowhere I can't reach.

oooh wait, an animated version. Just woke up heh. I dunno, it could be interesting I hope it's as good as the original animated one.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I am not a huge fan of this hybrid 'American anime' style. At all.

It would have been nice if they had put a little more detail (or thought) into the actual transformations they go through. Honestly, it looked like one of them moved two big things on his back and all of a sudden BAM. Transformed.

I know it's a cartoon and all, but after the movie, some people are going to have some minimal standards, dammit.

So, you don't really know what "silver screen" means, do you?

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

GI Joe is the codename for America's highly trained special mission force. Its purpose: to defend human freedom against COBRA. A ruthless terrorist organization determined to rule the world.

For some reason it gives me that Megaman animation kind of feeling, from the intro itself.

I'm actually excited for this, because Transformers they are more than meets the eye.

Fuck, that looks awesome. And that's got to be the best rendition of the theme song I've heard in ages.

Hmmm... if they're going for experimental I'd have loved to see what Genndy Tartakovsky could have done with Transformers. Seems they have some of the old cast in tow so who knows it might be worth a look. As long as they keep whoever was behind Totally Spies out of this I'll be happy. I'm not a big fan of the pseudo anime style either. It's either all or nothing and just do an original style. A big problem with emulating anime in general is that besides the stupid anime gags like giant sweat drop that most Americans don't get (or are misused) and distracts from the show is that you sometimes get the rigid animation and flat frozen backgrounds.
