Well, picked up a nice little laptop at the Future Shop Boxing Day sale, and first thing I did [before even starting it up] was make a bootable USB drive with Windows 7 on it. Nuked the HDD and reformatted to get rid of all the bloatware. I have it pretty much all customized now with the stuff that I want, I think. That said... it's been a while since I've posted in here, so here:
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
I used to use Kameleon a while back. It's a bitch to get working, but once you've got it set up it's quite nice. All of that guy's skins are pretty cool.
Thanks! I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
It's been a while, figured I'd post a new one. Not too much has changed [as there's not much you can do with Windows 7 yet, I guess] but I've got a decent customization going on, and I like it.
Also, this wallpaper. <3 I was speaking idiomatically. |
I'm using the 'Thin Taskbar'. I'm using a custom style called Soft7 [found it on deviantART], basically just makes the glass a bit softer. Also swapped out the default Start Orb for the one I'm using [via explorer.exe replacement].
The icons are called Token, just change the icons BEFORE pinning them to the taskbar and they'll stick. As for the wallpaper... Here it is: ICO & Yorda Enjoy! What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |

Juan, that's all kinds of awesome. It's throwing me off though, cause I look at the menu/apple bar and suddenly everything in a soft, smooth font. Is that an actual app changing your Safari, or is it just like... a userscript or something?

Question! Do you use a MacBook or a Pro? [Also, what do you have for a processor?] I'm looking at buying a refurb and I'm trying to weigh the different options.

See, I LOVE the i-series processors, but I really don't know if I can justify spending that much on a laptop again. Mine IS getting a bit old, though. Just trying to determine if spending the extra few hundred bucks on getting a Pro over the regular MB.
How ya doing, buddy? |

It's CS6.
I did a Lion clean install this morning, and things seem to run a bunch faster than they did before. Got this thing used (though she wiped it clean, it was Snow Leopard--which I then upgraded) but it's in amazing condition. I'm pretty happy with it. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
CS5 is nice, I haven't REALLY noticed much different in 6. There's a few things in Photoshop that are mostly UI changes (it's black instead of white/grey) and the way Crop Tool works, for example, but other than that it's largely similar. From what I can tell anyway. I haven't used it too much yet. But I like it!

I had a really awesome, simple text-based Bowtie skin, but I lost it. When I upgraded to Mountain Lion I did a clean install because there was a bunch of crap/software on here from the previous owner that I wanted to ditch. I'll have to go look that up again and post up a new screenshot.
[edit] Never mind, looks like I had backed it up, heh. Here's the slightly different, but mostly-the-same setup (incl Bowtie!): What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
It's been a while. And I threw together a new wallpaper today, so I figured I'd might as well come and revive this thing.
Actually I ended up doing a simple edit and making a series of these things, and set the wallpaper to switch version every couple hours. It's kinda soothing. Most amazing jew boots |
