Woot! So nutty pulled through for me and found Kirby: Squeak Squad (so freaking rare). He also got Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow for me too since I mentioned it was a game I'd wanna play at some point (though probably not anytime soon). This all comes at a good time now that Final Fantasy III is done. As I already mentioned, the new Phoenix Wright should arrive this week too, so it's all good times for some new DS gaming.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
I recently bought the latest installment of the Splinter Cell Series, Splinter Cell: Double Agent, for my PC. I, like a fool, failed to check the system requirements I needed in order to play the game because I was feeling quite confident after my recent upgrade. Unfortunately, the only thing that wasn't new in my computer was the very thing that messed it all up. My video card doesn't support 3.0 shading.
So, I was a little disappointed in that and I ended up just letting my friend take it since he recently acquired a new video card. I'm having fun, now, with Gothic 3 and I find myself thinking that I'm probably having a better time with it that I ever would have with SC: DA. FELIPE NO |
Finally picked up Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice for All... I've beaten it already, but I want to own it for the sake of it. I'm just playing through it again though. Such a good game. >.<
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
I got The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for Wii. My camera/Windows Vista is deciding to be a huge douchebag right now though.
edit//Also eBay fucker refunded my DSlite money and I never got it. I supposedly had to pay within an hour of the auction's end. What dumb shit. Jam it back in, in the dark.

Yay, alot of gaming crap from Chaotic again. Whoo.
Nintendo Wii - FINALLY, DAMMIT. But pity I ordered it online, I have to wait a week or so until I actually get it. I'm not worried though. It's just the waiting game that sucks... The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Wii) - Getting it with the Wii. Played the GC version a little, this one is gonna be good. Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz (Wii) - Getting it with the Wii. I heard good things about it. Thought I should try it out. Trauma Center: Second Opinion (Wii) - Loved Trauma Center on the DS. Needed to get this one. I'm getting this one with the system also. Madden 07 (Wii) - I had the PS2 version a while back... Heard a bunch of good things about the Wii version, so I thought I should give it a second chance. Elebits (Wii) - One of the games I'm getting based on the hype around it. Heard it was good, I don't doubt it's good, but hell, it's a better choice than Red Steel. WarioWare: Smooth Moves (Wii) - I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS FUCKING GAME. I WANNA SHAKE MY ASS LIKE A RIDICULOUS PERSON. Crazy Taxi 3: High Roller (XBOX) - No more Wii games for now, I swear. Anyway, I have the other two, thought I should finish the collection now. Phantom Dust (XBOX) - My friend had this for his XBOX, I loved it. It was only $4.99, so what better time to get it than now? There's nowhere I can't reach. |
haha! congrats finally chaotic! man, i need to get the wii wario ware at some point, but i'm holding out for a bit...
anyway, not a video game but a video game related purchase: i got 20 ds storage cases for my gba games as i'm gonna start printing out stuff from the cover project for my gba games (and super mario 64 ds). should be fun and make my collection look nicer. it may be photo-worthy afterwards too.... This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Got Ocarina of Time, Pokemon Stadium 2, extreme-G, and extreme-G 2 (N64). Gamestop was having a buy one get one free sale on PSX and N64 games. Also got Metroid Prime with Echoes bonus disc and Animal Crossing without my damn Memory card >:\/!!
Both Animal Crossing and Metroid Prime aren't Player's Choice though so it seems like I got them when they first came out. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
So Ultima finally buys some games instead of some consoles and he chooses some N64 ones?
EG 1 and 2 are good calls though. I was speaking idiomatically. |
Pre-ordered Ar Tonelico. Probably I'll go for less RPGs this year, I'll see.
And bought Lord of Destruction. Like said, in a Diablo 2 mood. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
FELIPE NO |
I also ordered a Wii and 6 games from the same place Chaotic did, but instead of Super Monkey Ball and Madden, I ordered Excite Truck and Billy and Mandy (but I'm thinking of returning those two. Excite Truck seems like it'll be fun, but $50 is $50. :P Plus, we all know Billy and Mandy can't possibly be a good game.) I'm still waiting for Phoenix Wright to arrive. ;__; What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Let's see...I got Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice For All last week, yet I still haven't played it yet, due to school and stuff. Once I finally do start playing games again, this will definitely be the first one I play.
And today, while looking for Hotel Dusk, I wound up getting a bunch of games that weren't Hotel Dusk. At EB, I picked up a new copy of the DS version of Scurge: Hive for $15. I said I would get it once it got cheaper, so I figured $15 was cheap enough. And while at Target, I saw that they had brought back their clearance section. Hardly any good (or even mediocre) games this time though, so I only left with Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls for $21, and Yoshi Touch & Go for $10. With FF I & II, I now have all the FF games except for IX and XI (I obviously don't care to get XI). As for Yoshi, I probably would have gotten it sooner if Gamestop and other places weren't still selling it for $30 (pretty unbelievable for such an old game). So basically, the only game I didn't get today was the one I set out to get. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
A couple weeks ago I got Gradius Collection, Metal Gear Acid 2, Gunstar Super Heroes, and Shadow of the Colossus, mostly because the first three were on clearance for $10 at Toys R Us, and also because I had credit at Target, and Shadow of the Colossus was $20 (Greatest Hits).
Of the four, I've only played MGA2 and Gradius Collection so far. MGA 2 is really good; I'm about eight hours into it, and I'm really enjoying the character development and gameplay. As for Gradius Collection, it's impossible to play without modifying the PSP's D-pad, which I guess I'm going to have to do sometime soon. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
All the Sega games were only $2 each so Lost Stars is probably one of the weirdest platform games Sega's made. Dogs attacking you with the letters of 'bow wow' and so forth. "FIND THE MIRACLE BALL". Fun fact, it comes with the instruction book to Alex Kidd in Miracle World instead. I already own Sonic, but IT'S ALL PART OF THE MASTER PLAN that'll involve GFF one day! Looks like it's a different print run from my other, the instruction manual's actually a book instead of one single bit of paper you have to unfold like a secret map. Stupid cheap Sega and your maps! Plus this one states you can play it on Mega Drive if you have the SMS adaptor. I know this must be pretty thrilling information to you lot! Casino Games is kinda shit. Kinda real shit. But I knew that in advance! There's some fun to be had in the pinball game it features, and by some, I mean none! I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT ATOMIC RUNNER IS. I still don't! I tried getting it to work earlier but oooooh noooo. Gonna have to bust out the cotton buds and water. I've owned Sonic 2 for years, too, but the kawaii super hardcore Hello Kitty Japanese version. Nice to have the PAL version finally. :] RADIO HELICOPTER 2 I had no idea the PAL version was out, let alone some poor distributor actually picked it up for a local release! $15, same as the original cost me. Radio Helicopter was easily the best Simple 2000 game I've played, which isn't saying too much, but I hope this is just as relaxing to play (come ooooon bikini rescue round two). I'll find out soon! This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I was beginning to think I'd never find the Gamecube version. Thankfully Saturday night I did. I was also worried I'd never get my hands on Shadow of the Colossus but I was able to find a Greatest Hits copy of it a couple weeks back. Scary times. Most amazing jew boots You're staring at me like I just asked you what the fucking square root of something. |
What on earth is that book? Is that a guide or some US-only pre-order thingie?

It's a gigantic bible of TP. It's 450 pages or something, which is truly amazing. Comes with a cloth map too.
Speaking of purchases, a couple of things won't arrive before early february, but since january And I just like provoking Ultima. high res desu Wii Freeloader Chibi Robo (US) Final Fantasy X International (J) Ikaruga (J) Twilight Princess (PAL) Twilight Princess Limited Edition Guide Zone of the Enders 2 Premium Pack HOLY SHIT I BOUGHT A PAL GAME. Twilight Princess' fun, but I haven't started it properly. I'm just past the first temple and about to venture into Hyrule Field. Chibi Robo is chibi, but also amazingly cute and very entertaining. Oh and I also picked up some Wii component cables from play-asia for $10US, which make all Gamecube and Wii games look great. FFX International has an option for english, as well as additional bosses/new sphere grid/some other stuff I'm probably forgetting. This is one of the few Final Fantasy titles I liked (6, 7, and X) and I managed to pick this up for $30 US locally. Sealed. Ikaruga was also quite cheap, especially as the japanese version doesn't have the glitches the PAL one does. I don't plan on taking this game seriously since shmups already consume too much of my time - I don't need another one doing the same. The TP guide is beautiful, as is the cloth map. The pages haev this gold cover to them, which made it difficult to look at at first. I had to seperate the pages individually (I'm pretty sure they coat the pages last) and some of them were really stuck together. The Wii Freeloader lets me play foreign games on my PAL Wii. But overall, the ZoE2 Premium Pack was by far the best thing about january. The art book, heavy gauge, soundtrack and game are all beautifully presented in this huge box (with even more art imprinted on it) and it just looks good. I didn't have to pay postage as the person selling this (I requested it directly from him, since he told me he owned it and was selling up some of his gear) just happened to be in my town early jan. The art book is by far one of the greatest art books ever made. There was only 1000 of these box sets ever made, so I'm extremely happy. Next month probably won't be as exciting. FELIPE NO

I very recently got mah Wii along with a couple of games to go with it.
Wii Sports is surprisingly fun. Multiplayer baseball sessions are always fun, and the custom Miis add some unique awesomeness to the gameplay. Wario Ware: Smooth Moves is hilarious. Completely random microgames coupled with stances to use the Wiimote with bring good times. I definitely need to get more Wiimotes so all of my friends can play this game. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
<If I had a decent camera, a picture would go here>
So recently I hung out at Wal-Mart for an hour for fantastic results! My most recent purchases are: Nintendo Wii - Finally got my hands on a Wii. My friends who went with me also got some for themselves. 512MB SD Card - Don't know why I got this, extra space I guess. I won't need to get one later. Super Swing Golf - I always loved the PC version, Albatross18, so I had to get this. There's quite a bit of slowdown (lol Shining Sands), and the AI is really inconsistant in their shots, but for multiplayer it's awesome. Elebits - After my friend told me about all the IIDX references, I had to get this. I'm really enjoying it, too. It feels like Katamari, except a FPS kind of Katamari. Very fun. Wario Ware: Smooth Moves - Ahahaha oh man. I've loved every Wario Ware game up to this point (Except Touched!, never got a chance to play it), and this is no exception. What a blast. The explanations for the forms are Now I just have to get a USB Wifi adapter so I can go online here in my dorm. How ya doing, buddy?

Great. Another book I'll miss out on then. I suppose I have no chance of acquiring just the book somewhere relatively cheap either.
EDIT: Though I see it's for the Wii version and is exclusively game advice, so perhaps I'm not missing out that much after all. There's nowhere I can't reach.

Since my last post, I managed to find Hotel Dusk: Room 215. Got it at Wal-Mart the next day, but I still haven't played it yet (gonna finish PW2 first).
And today, I went to a different Target today, just to see what games they had in their clearance section. Way too many sports games, and quite a few Gamecube games, so not really much selection in regards to DS games. I did manage to get Gunpey DS for $8 though, so I'm not complaining. I also bought Eye Toy: Play, with the camera, for $15. Seriously, I gotta start going to different Targets, if they're all gonna have different games in their clearance section. It's pretty good for finding not only cheap games, but older ones too. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Recent Purchases: Drakengard 2 & God Of War [Greatest Hits]. I picked up Drakengard for $7 from a local video rental store that was in surprisingly good condition and God Of War Greatest Hits version today from EBgames before dropping a preorder for the sequel. Just a general question about PS2 Greatest Hits titles while on the subject but has anybody else experienced problems playing them on their PS2, preferbly the older models? See, the rental store had the GH version of God Of War and that was giving me nothing but "Disc Read Error" all the time unless I went through some ritual of constantly opening and closing the tray for 45 minutes to an hour to which the game would work....sometimes. So for this reason I picked up a new copy today but I'm getting the same bloody error message and problem. My other games and DVDs work fine though... I was speaking idiomatically. |
