Ripping sound effects from PS2 games

I hope this goes here... (If it doesn't just move it.)

Anyway, as you know, in Silent Hill, when you approach an enemy, all manner of horrible sounds start playing. I'm not talking about the background "music", but certain sound effects that are only cued when a monster is near.

Tell me, is there any way to rip these sound effects from the DVD? I would really like to make a personalized Silent Hill halloween mix track this year, using those sounds, (which I would then play outside) but I don't want to record the sounds manually. (Which wouldn't work any way, because in some cases, more than one sound is being played at the same time.) I downloaded the Silent Hill 3 complete rip from somebody's FTP, which contains all of the BGM but none of the effects.

Any help is appreciated.

Jam it back in, in the dark.
