Well it's to be expected don't you know. When has blizzard ever tried to fix an awful spec or class without overpowering it like crazy and then going back in and chopping it back off at knees? course then they'll realize they over nerfed and buff it just a little bit again and the cycle will continue until 5 patches down the line it's thoroughly mediocre.
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Just in time for the expansion, I've finally pried the grips of this game from its stranglehold on my life. I'M FREE!!! GLADIATOR VALESKA IS RETIRED.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
On a related but somewhat opposite kind of note, I've started to play the game again. I've been playing it for about two weeks (after 2+ years away) and I'm enjoying it all over again. Heh. Of course it helps that the patches that came out in the 2 years made the game so much better, and the XP has been reduced, and all of that good stuff. I actually just transferred my Orc Hunter from Medivh over to Terokkar via some free transfer. So if anyone's Horde on Terokkar let me know, eh? This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
lol @ wal-mart:
I didn't see the CE, but they had the regular version on the shelves at the local Wal-mart. Almost got one but eh, I'll get it Midnight on release night. Most amazing jew boots |
Your Wal-mart is so incompetent. My Wal-mart has a giant sign in the video game section with "COMING SOON" and release dates. Even idiot employees can't miss it.
On a side note, I've considered playing WoW again, but I'm enjoying Warhammer Online a little too much for now. I do like the story progression and the leveling aspect of WoW, though...so I may have to tap into the new content at some point. I was speaking idiomatically. |
It's ok. Wal-Mart and some Circuit Citys were breaking street date. Both got popped by Blizzard (more in thanks to people going out buying it, then bragging on the forums about it.) So on the 12th, CC people were putting the games back on pallets and putting them in the backroom, Wal-mart's computer systems had it being a "restricted access sale".
Midnight release was fun I guess, however lot of people pissed that I walked out with all 4 CEs they got in (all pre-ordered mind you). Although waiting around for 2 damn hours was just mind-numbing. It wasn't as colorful as I heard some midnight release in Virgina was, where a fight broke out. The game is pretty cool and Death Knight is just badass. There are already some 74s and I imagine 75s on Thunderhorn by now but I just don't see the big deal to rush to 80 is. I'm having fun actually going slow this time and taking in the areas. I started Northrend in Howling Fjord and love the area alot. Hopefully tonight I can log in before the Queues and start running Utgarde Keep a few times. Place looks pretty impressive when I went in solo to see what it looked like. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Herro people. Commentator cat are joining ur thread just in time to commentate on the recent release of the expansion! I guess I can do my character list and levels first, then blab.
Thelene - 70 shaman on Arygos Haldum - 58 death knight on Area52 Bakudan - 70 hunter on Area52 Giselleraven - 55 paladin on Coilfang My hunter was my first character ever made on my account, and my first 70 pre-xpac. I'm dps by trade, but my shammy respec'd resto for the Northrend instances(and the lulz), and I'm absolutely in love with my protadin, and plan on getting her to 80 before either of my non-Death Knight alts. First of all. Death Knights are beyond fun. The initial quest line and event chain is absolutely genius, and the most fun thing I've ever encountered in the game. Plus, adding the runeforging skill into the math just makes me giddy. I honestly believe that, save the ability to be a healer, death knights are the most personalizable class so far. I'm absolutely in love with mine.. I came home from the midnight release and did the whole quest line save for the Light's Hope Chapel event before passing out to rest before classes. However. I'm disappointed with some of the new talent trees. The hunter trees sort of get on my nerves a tiny bit. I see marksmanship as better dps now, personally. I don't particularly care about exotic pets, because I can set pet skills up fine for extra dps... although, I admit, in retrospect to my original beliefs about this argument, with the new pet skill system, the 5 pet skill points is pretty okay. But I've seen some absolutely mean crits come off of wyvern shot, and I haven't even taken my hunter to Northrend to play around yet. I'll give a biiig thumbs up to the new shammy trees, though. The elementals get a nice little balanced aoe+knockback+mana restore; not overly powerful, but still insanely useful. Restos can basically sit back and depend on earth shield and riptide, until you hit boss fights, now, but they're not, I don't think, overpowered; I've healed three dungeons since my respec, and when I actually have to heal, I have some problems with OOMage. Enhancement... I am in LOOOVE with this new tree. I wouldn't be resto if I could play enhancement worth crap, but I just can't pick up the rotation. Pallies. Are. The. Best. Tanks. (Threat-wise) I have -never- had problems with threat on my tankadin. Ever. Especially not since avenger's shield. Plus, prot pally is ridiculous op for questage, especially in massive kill chains. We have the survivability to take harder mobs, like elites for group quests, etc, and we can, or I can with my spec and gear, aoe/shield spike/holy shield down groups of five or more for questing. If I had a good healer as a partner, I'd probably just aoe grind plaguelands til the high 50's, and play in stratholme with aoe til 60, and get a head start before OL quests. Aaaaand.... that's my basic critique on things that have been going down since xpac, although I know my pally talk has nothing at all to do with WotLK content. All in all, two thumbs up, Blizzard. And I'm impressed that we got the expansion launched with no major server crashes! Three thumbs up. However. We can't overlook the two days previous with at least 30 hours downtime... FELIPE NO |
I fucking despise blizzard right now, My account got suspended since "Someone accessed it" lol I think i was playing on a net cafe that time, Anyway they said they were gonna unlock it last night, To my surprise it is still locked.
I've tried emailing them, (not even a reply) What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
WOW character question
Hi
I was wondering if anybody could help me with the name of the nightelf in the image below? Another question, who are the major people/characters in the world of warcraft? I don't play WOW, so I don't know much. But I've heard of Thrall and the Lich King. Jam it back in, in the dark.
Thanks to Fjordor for the funny image!

The nightelf pictured there is Sylvannas. She was a nightelf ranger before Arthas (lich king) killed her and brought her back as a wraith/banshee. She broke free of his control and along with the other scourge that broke free from the Lich King's control started to call themselves the 'forsaken' which is the undead race you can play that is allied with the Horde.
As for Major people/characters, it really doesn't dwell on that so much...they don't really do a damn thing other than just sit there. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
It is a damn shame that i have come onto this, But where is a good site to sell my WoW account, seeing as i have lost all my interest onto the game.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?
Thanks to Fjordor for the funny image!

Hm... major characters in WoW? Sylvannas Windrunner is fairly prominent... but not really the same caliber as Arthas or Illidan.
WoWWiki - Your guide to the World of Warcraft I was speaking idiomatically. |
Finally hunters are getting a much deserved nerf, however, I said the same thing about the ret paladin nerf patch, and they are still very much OP. It did very little in fact, so I'm a bit skeptical about the nerfs they posted, still, good to see they are least recognize hunters as being OP atm.
Now if they only got off their asses and finally noticed just how GAY rogues are at the moment with that fucking Honor Among Thieves. They're getting 6/7k dps by essentially just spamming Eviscerate. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? Soldier: Prepare yourself, rebel scum!! Arngrim : (These slipshod soldiers think they can call me "rebel scum"?) |
Heh. The elemental overhaul worked out great. My ele shammy that I spent two months gearing is now leading dps... everywhar. But at the same time, I'm not doing 5k damage and crap, so I'm still not an op mage.
FELIPE NO |
I am new to the game since just before Christmas...
Dawnbringer Server: Leorin ~ Lvl 46 Human Paladin ~ Alliance SkyLancer ~ Lvl 22 Night Elf Hunter ~ Alliance I am the GM of a guild now BTW, It's called WE R HELPERS if anyone wants to join. A lame name, but wasn't my choice! What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Wark! |
Ilvathar - Level 10 human paladin
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
:noonecares: but the new test patch is out:
There's nowhere I can't reach. |

I keep trying to play, and can't bring myself to do it anymore. I wanna say they made the game too easy? The 10man stuff is fun, but once you've done it for a month or so, it's over.
I loved Naxx back when it was impossibly hard. Now it's a joke. I kind of wish they had made it harder to make it worthwhile. The guild I'm in is nowhere near impressive and we finished it off by the second week it was out. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Current raidning in WotLK = ENTRY LEVEL. It was designed to be "easy" to garner more interest in raiding. Ulduar is supposed to be a notch up in difficulty, but I'm sure those guilds who don't sleep will have that cleared in 1-2 weeks and then have their hand stuck out wanting more while waiting for 3.2 to bring out the new raid.
How ya doing, buddy? |
I just gotta come in here and say that Sylvanas wasn't a night elf and she never was one. She was a high elf. Her model was a night elf because Blizzard is fucking lazy and that's that.
No, I don't care how old that post was. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
I don't know, I have been playing two months now and am taking a slight vacation from it. too many other games to play as of the moment. That said, I am not bored yet, but the lvling takes much longer now!
Anyway, if anyone wants to meet up for a game, let me know! FELIPE NO |
There are actually a number of high elves marauding around in the game that most people take for granted. There are a few of them, in Allerian Stronghold, one of which actually says, if I recall correctly, "Don't worry, <race>, I'm a high elf, not a blood elf. I won't suck the mana out of you." You can still find a few in the old cities, I think... The high elves are still around. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |

What does it mean? Well, Wrath of the Lich King was trademarked a few weeks before the Blizzcon, we're not going to jump to conclusions here but WoWWiki will most likely give you a few things to think about on their Great Sundering article. The Great Sundering, also known as simply the Sundering or the Cataclysm was a world event which reshaped Azeroth approximately 10,000 years ago at the end of the War of the Ancients. This event was triggered due to the Well of Eternity being destroyed. Prior to the Sundering, there was only one continent on Azeroth, referred to as Kalimdor. In the catastrophic explosion, eighty percent of the land mass was destroyed leaving behind the major continents and scattered islands that are known today: Northrend, Kezan, the Eastern Kingdoms, and the remnant still referred to as Kalimdor. The site of the Well of Eternity became a swirling vortex of power known as the Maelstrom. A few days ago, one of our user also spotted a test server named "Maelstrom 3 Test" in the US server list (it only showed up for a few seconds, see This post). If the expansion is indeed The Maelstrom/Cataclysm, we can expect to see a few things here: * Sargeras and/or Deathwing * Azshara * Goblins!
