David Cronenberg made Inception 12 years ago. Right down to the fucking Or Is It? at the end. Whatever, it was still good fun. Or as fun as a semi-sequel to Videodrome can be. Jam it back in, in the dark. It was lunchtime at Wagstaff.

Reason: ALL HAIL THE NEW FLESH! DEATH TO VIDEODROME!

We watched Freeway a couple of nights ago, and HOLY SHIT.
HOLY SHIT. (great music, too) There's nowhere I can't reach. It was lunchtime at Wagstaff.

I watched Singin' in the Rain for what might have been the first time last night. I miss movie musicals that weren't Broadway shows first.
(I have also watched My Stepmother is an Alien (which made me giggle), and re-watched My Fair Lady (which practically made me squee I'm such a faggot) lately. Just haven't posted) This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. It was lunchtime at Wagstaff.

DEATH TO VIDEODROME LONG LIVE THE NEW FLESH
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? It was lunchtime at Wagstaff.

Just watched The Perfect Host, and I've got to say I think I liked it more as a black comedy than a crime thriller. Also not what I was expecting AT ALL. Not bad, honestly.
How ya doing, buddy? It was lunchtime at Wagstaff.

Watched Road Trip for the first time last night. What is it with 90's movies and random titties? Still enjoyable.
Also re-watched the Star Trek AU movie. I really want to know how Kirk can talk at the end of the movie (unless it's like, a month later, and it really isn't) given that he's been practically choked out by members of two extremely strong species twice in what is probably a 2 hour time-frame. Whatever, griping about the unreality of movies is stupid. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? It was lunchtime at Wagstaff.

Watched Super High Me in celebration of 4/20.
LOL. Also watched both The Wedding Singer (it's cute, and about as good as I remember (which was that the movie was cute and not awful but not completely fantastic)) and Horrible Bosses. I was, for some reason, expecting the movie to be less dark. And, like most dark comedies, the funniest moment is when someone gets killed. See: Fargo, Burn After Reading, Serial Mom. FELIPE NO It was lunchtime at Wagstaff.

I should not be as excited as I am that Eerie, Indiana is available in its entirety on Netflix. Although no spin-off/sequel series.
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? It was lunchtime at Wagstaff.

To further ruin lives, Netflix also has Beakman's World.

So, are any of y'all watching Girls? Well stop only using your HBO for Game of Thrones and watch this funny shit.

The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas is fantastic, especially the governor's song. Fucking great.
Also, we've been watching this British food show called The Supersizers. It's this thing where two folks dress up and eat foods from different periods in British history and it's fucking fascinating. Two series of 6 episodes each, and I wish it was on DVD so I could throw money at it, instead of watching semi-crappy .avi files. Also wish there were different language/other country ones. Except the US, since we really don't have enough history to have enough food history for the show to be interesting past a few episodes. Most amazing jew boots It was lunchtime at Wagstaff.

Totally saw Brave. Love whoever is in charge of trailers at Pixar, since I saw none that spoiled any of the plot. Was not an emotional wreck at the end of this one (see: Up, Toy Story 3).
Also, for SAUS participants, the aforementioned British show has, during the 70s episode and a ski vacation, the Ski Sunday Theme. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? It was lunchtime at Wagstaff.

Watched 21 Jump Street last night. One of the most fabulous uses of a Canon-Welding cameo I've seen. Also was totally expecting a certain deleted scene to actually happen in the movie.
"I taste metal." I was speaking idiomatically. It was lunchtime at Wagstaff.

... but Peter Dinklage is from New Jersey. He's also the best actor on the show, so.

So I saw Frankenweenie. Is it bad that I still cried when the dog died, given that that's part of the premise?
Also, sooooo many references. Sooooooo many references. The American Werewolf in Paris one was particularly sweet. Jam it back in, in the dark. It was lunchtime at Wagstaff.

So much anime. So much anime. But that's not what this thread is for, oh, but sorta.
Just re-watched Perfect Blue. Still a glorious mindfuck, and just realized something in this viewing that I hadn't before: Spoiler:
Also, totally saw the "Black Swan is a remake" stuff, too. There's nowhere I can't reach. It was lunchtime at Wagstaff.

Well then: as far as series go, we've watched:
B Gata H Kei or Yamada's First Time (because Funimation realized to some extent that a direct translation of the title would mean NOTHING to the vast majority of Americans, but then doesn't even mention ANYWHERE during the show the significance of "H"): Yay ecchi. Nichijou: re-watch, actually, but Yay insanity! Lucky Star: I don't need to say anything about this but wow japan Currently re-watching Midori no hibi because cute anime about guy with girl-hand is cute. Also Kaleido Star to lead up to "wvlf is finally downloading the OAVs that weren't released in America but aren't on bakabt because I guess they were licensed even though there are no plans to release them so wtf." Just like the second half of Kodocha come on let's have a sub-only release since SOMEONE has to have the rights to it now. I'm complaining. Jem is on Netflix. The second season is INSANE. The Misfits rock out Congress. Fuck yes. Third season, not so much. Also watching The IT Crowd and for some reason tvtropes doesn't think that Chris O'Dowd fits the "Adorkable" trope. Even though he's an even bigger dork than he was in Bridesmaids. Still, funny show, and Matt Berry makes me happy, as always. Also, LOL at LeHah's issue with the Bond movie being misogynistic, considering how that'd be something from the novels that the movie actually got RIGHT. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. It was lunchtime at Wagstaff.

So we're watching this animu. It's called Kanamemo. It's so lesbian. SOOOOO lesbian. And sooooo adorable.
But then it has this musical episode. That is amazing. The songs are retarded. Here's the one that has been stuck in my head for the past couple of weeks.

oh my god Acer, I have a Drink On Movie that I must Tell Everyone about:
The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking. You know, the American one. Holy fucking shit. The movie is, quite literally, So Bad It's Awesome. Oh my god. Songs. The Songs. That Won't get out of My Head. Holy shit. I was speaking idiomatically. It was lunchtime at Wagstaff.

So watching Gene Wilder Willy Wonka, and I had a crazy theory:
Wonka is even more of a Magnificent Bastard than he already is? I think that Wonka HAND-PICKED Charlie; there's a line where Wonka says "You were being tested" and I totally heard that as a SINGULAR "you." Think about it for a second; the Slugworth stand-in shows up AWFULLY fast after Charlie gets his ticket, unlike the other kids, who were visited by him only by the time that they were on TV. While, yes, Charlie lives in the part of America that Babe (the movie) takes place in (you know, Not-England), which is also where Wonka's factory is, there's no way that Wonka could have sent the man to meet him less than a minute after he finds the ticket, mob of people or not (creepy lady shouting RUN HOME CHARLIE). This means that Wonka is just a dick who was trying to teach a lesson to the other kids while letting Charlie understand his way of thinking. I also have comments on Rainbow Brite (the Movie) and Care Bears 2, but I can't be arsed to write them right now. How ya doing, buddy? It was lunchtime at Wagstaff.

The Purge was a home invasion movie with some interesting ideas and commentary on entitlement, but ... yeah. It's a home invasion movie.

The effects in Addams Family Values have REALLY fucking held up, especially for Thing. You'd think folks would notice stuff like that but then we still get movies where filmmakers decide that instead of actually FILMING water, we need to ANIMATE it and that always looks wonderful.
