that looks alot like Suikoden Demon Century which is awesome movie and i have seen the subtitle but it was a friend of mines and i have no idea where he got it from. If i'm right someone else can go :P

That's Jigoku Shoujo I believe , that or Samurai Champloo...or it's a scene very similar. I guess Jigoku Shoujo though. I could be wrong, but that's what I associate with brutal death.

Sadly, it's not from either. The animation is different from Jigoku Shoujo, but it has its close relation with Champloo. Depending on how the guessing goes I'll post a new picture.

Hey aku i'll try to see if I can hunt my friend down but he moved to orlando and I move to Talahassee so i'm sure exactly where at he is but i'll see if someone knows where he went and try to get Suikoden for ya.

Now for a just a pure guess I'm going to say Samurai seven since that is the only anime I can think of that is semi close to champloo and was also done in 2004
