The source is Magic Box. It's on the news section.

Quote:
- Shonen Jump magazine revealed that Square Enix's Final Fantasy XII International Zodiac Job System for PS2 will have 2 additional playable characters, they are Larsa Ferrina Solidor and Vossler. Both characters will no longer be non-playable/guest characters, you can put them into your team, set their gambits, and use them as leader in battles. Larsa and Vossler will also have their own set of weapons.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Maybe it'll let you fiddle with their gambits and equipment when they're in as guests?

I can't see them being permanent characters, since you know, they need to be out of the party on multiple occasions due to the plot.
Exactly.

Also, thanks for the info Dizzy. I seriously am really excited for this. I just hope it has in game english text along with the english voice acting like FFX international.

Oh man, my fricking limited edition copy looks like a beta game now

I always liked Larsa. He could kick some butt. Reddas isn't going to be made the same way, is he?

Quick question:

I've noticed that after I've killed certain rare hunts, I don't get a trophy for it. Notably the demon horse thing with 99,999 hp in the Necrohol of Nabudis which I've now killed twice. Is this because I always steal from them first or do you have to kill them in a certain order or something? I got one for killing the Crystal Knight in the Great Crystal last night so it's not like the game has completely stopped giving them to me.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Not all the rare games drop the trophy Shin, only a certain few. Helvinek is not one of them.

Trophy Rare Games:

Spoiler:
Aspidochelon, Thalassinon, Anubys, Gavial, Melt, Kaiser Wolf, Dreadguard, Killbug, Rageclaw, Biding Mantis, Kris, Dheed, Grimalkin, Terror Tyrant, Abelisk, Ishteen, Vorres, Arioch, Crystal Knight, Nazarnir, Victanir, Zombie Lord, Disma, Ancbolder, Bull Chocobo, Wendice, Skullash, Myath, Bluesang, Avenger and Alteci

Marked the list just in case it might be considered a spoiler for some people.

Ah, that explains a lot. I naturally assumed that all 80 rare hunts were trophy monsters. Is any of the stuff you get from the hunters shop worth tracking that lot down?

All I can think of is the Sage's Ring or whatever it's called. Absorbs Holy and cuts MP use in half, pretty useful against Ultima. The only other way you can get that thing is by stealing from one of the trophy monsters (the one in the Nabreus Deadlands).

Oh about those, make sure you keep them occupied and have someone keep attempting to steal with thief's gloves. They usually have pretty decent equipment on them.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Meh, just don't bother with espers, they are not worth it. I don't care how good they are, it's not worth sacrificing the other two characters. But really, even if your characters didn't go away, they'd still not be worth it. Especially end-game.

If they had some sort of Overdrive like the summons in FFX had, that you could activate at will, then maybe...

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

But I already have two of those without doing either of those things... Can't remember where from though.

Well, it's possible you got some from chests somewhere. I don't really remember if there were some places that gave them up since the chests were mostly random in this game (giving you worthless amounts of girl frequently).

As for the Espers? Completely worthless just like quite a bit of the offensive magic in this game. They would've been much better if they:
  • Didn't take away two party members
  • Had a base HP amount (depends on the Esper) that gets extra added on by factoring in the sum of the party's max HP or some other way. Just... give them more HP
  • Have them level up with characters
  • Unique abilities for
  • Customizable gambits

Of course, it'd be great if they bumped the game's difficulty five or ten times what it is now so people don't bleat about them being overpowered.

How ya doing, buddy?

ok I started a game of this a long time ago and never went into the game further than 3 hours... my question is does it even get difficult at all? I don't feel like I'm doing anything during battles.

I kinda grinded a lot so I was usually a few levels higher than the enemy. But during boss battles, they have nasty ailment attacks would is a pisser. So yes, it gets a little harder - and of course, more annoying.

Heh, I still have to beat the last boss. I haven't touched it since I started Odin Sphere and DQ8. xD

I haven't touched it since I'm in the middle of Tales of the Abyss... but Abyss is getting kind of annoying with the recent drought in bosses and the cut-scene rampage it's on...

That was actually my favorite part of the game! Then again, I'm a sucker for a good story and I never found the battles in ToA to be all that interesting.

eh I kind of get annoyed when the story has a down time and it takes ages for it to pick backup... it smells like the second disc of Xenogears... :P

Quoted for truth.

I don't mind a cut-scene here and there--but almost the entire disc? "We did this, and this, and this...NOW you can play. (Did we forget to mention the game's almost over?)"

I can understand why they did it--funding cuts are a bitch, so they had to do something. But, Square definitely made a mistake by not realizing the potential of the "Xenogears" story, instead of relying on the Juggernaut that is Final Fantasy.

And, ironically, I enjoyed FFXII--so different from the other games. Politics, intrigue, and hunts that are actually fun.

yeah but with every turn I'm reminded of Star Wars in FFXII but it does a lot of things right... I'd like to amp up the difficulty from the beginning though

More than enough, you'll be fine. I finished the game right after defeating both Yiazmat and Omega, so I was way above what you need to finish the game.

I already invested about 100 hours in this game - I don´t think I will buy another version unlesss I can import save games. It would be maybe 20 hours new stuff and then rushing through the rest of the game because I get bored.

I guess there is no real reason to beat it again is there? nothing new or anything? well that sucks.. sure it lasted 80hours.. but a newgame plus, or extra dungeon wouldve been sweet. I just beat it the other day.. ending was pretty cool. it sucks its over though.

debating to replay it. lol
