Wow these look amazing. I especially love the R&C pics. I do see another "In game/rendered movie" crazetravaganza coming on cause of this though.
I was speaking idiomatically. |
Warhawk looks like crap in those screens.
Too bad it'll be the best game out of them all. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |

He has no concept of low-res shots taken from a darkly lit room. Of course he'll still complain when the hi-res direct feed shots come in.
Me? I could feel a single tear drop from my eye when I saw those R&C screens. Not so much because I'm a fan of the series (only played the second one, still need to beat it), but because it opens the doors for some spectacular looking locations, especially in FFXIII. November can't come soon enough. Most amazing jew boots |
Wow, those Ratchet and Clank screens are crazy. Is it actual game footage or a tech demo style thing?

Those Vehicle Dynamics photos are incredibly realistic. Given another coat of polish, they could easily pass for the real thing, no question.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
I'm glad they went back to the bright and expansive areas of the first few games, and even more so that they used Metropolis as the scene for that little teaser. A lot of folks want to see these things in motion since there's only so much you can get from a static object (like the car, or the new chickens demo). How ya doing, buddy? The text is part of the image and the two squires aren't exactly even. |

And you're right about it taking some time until we see some truly next-gen titles, we can already see it happening with Ghost Recon and later on in the year with Gears of War. I was speaking idiomatically. The text is part of the image and the two squires aren't exactly even. |
God, R&C looks excellent. I wonder if they're going to employ some sort of fur effect on dear ol' Ratchet. (Think Monsters Inc). And with Insomniac at the helm, I'm pretty sure we'll get a great gameplay.

You know what struck me? So far, most people commenting on these shots (check out GAF) have said the same thing. It looks like it was the PS2's hardware limitations that held back these guys, because what we're seeing in those R&C screens is basically Metropolis city, unaltered, from R&C1.
Oh, and according to GDC attendees, the best part about the Resistance showing was the weapons. Sounds like a typical Ratchet feature, eh? Edit: Ah, here's some off-screen photos @ 720p of the Ratchet & Clank teaser. FELIPE NO The text is part of the image and the two squires aren't exactly even.

The pictures are of a poor quality which makes it harder to guage how good the graphics are, but nevertheless they do look nice. Impressive if they are real time.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
This was a developer's conference, not open to the public, since they wouldn't see past the early screens and see issues that they're dealing with or things that they'd want to ask colleagues about. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? The text is part of the image and the two squires aren't exactly even. |
Wait, so these demos aren't even running on actual PS3s.
LoL. Most amazing jew boots |

I don't understand all the hype about 1080p. Currently there are only a handful of TV's that can display 1080p, and they certainly aren't cheap. I've got one of the most badass tv's in the world and it can't display 1080p.
It won't be until they release those SED tvs that people will really be able to take advantage of PS3 display capabilities. FELIPE NO |
Toshiba would like to have a word with you.
What does ''the most badass TV in the world'' mean? Does it make lunch for you or what? What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? Nothing wrong with not being strong

This is the badass TV in the world. Just wait until I look up for the 80 inch HDTV from Samsung. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Uh, that tv doesn't display 1080p... it does 1080i. My tv kicks that one's ass all over the place. behold! it makes lunch, waffles, orders pizza, is a scanner/fax/copier, and it even tucks you in at night. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Wow nice stuff you have MetheGelfling, I really like the gamecube I just saw the trailer from Metal Gear Solid 4, on the special bonus dvd from MGS3sub. And that looked super cool. In the trailer it's says no CGI, so that was all in game. PS3 is really gonnan be super cool. I will buy a PS3, MGS4 is one of the main reasons.
