My f drive (dvdrw drive) suddenly disappeared...
I remember it worked before but all of a sudden it disappeared and it doesn't show up in device manager, even if i click on scan for new hardware. My cdrom drive still appears, though. Any ideas?
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Take out your CDROM drive and plug your dvd drive into it's IDE cables / power and report back.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |

Problem solved. A few days ago, I took out my dvdrw drive to fix a problem, and for god knows what reason, I forgot to connect the IDE cable when I put it back in. Thanks.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |

Sounds like a problem within Windows, common with program installations and Windows upgrades.

That's what I thought it was before and I tried it and it didn't work. Read the post above to find out why. Anyway, I fixed it. I'll close this thread. Thanks for all the help.
