forced time travel

About a week a go I had this dream where I ended up in the year 1992.

I was traveling back home on a plane when lightening hits the cabin. Everything blacks out upon impact. When I woke, I standing in the town of where I live. I explored the area and to make a long story short, i found myself in the year 1992.

It was almost a lucid dream in that I decided to play around with it a little bit. I checked my balance at an ATM. All the money I would have 16 years later, was sitting in my account.

So here's my question. Let's say you wake up in the year 1992 where you currently live. You start off with the money you have as of today. You can't go around using your real name because there's another version of you running around.

What would be your new name?
Can you survive off the money you have now?
Would you use your knowledge of future events for your own person gain (all time traveling theories aside)?
Would you seek out the 1992 version of yourself?
If given the option to jump back to present time, would you take it?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

The suburb I live in now was built maybe two years ago, four at the max, so taking things back to 1992, I would wake up in an endless field surrounded by sad-eyed cows.

"Hello, New Mom! =D"

I guess I would have to learn to live like an honest cow, living off of udder milk and wheat grass. I'd spend my days refusing the advances of ovulating heifers, and sleeping in the shade. At night I'd dream about being a human again. Then one day I will be slaughtered and sold as a Wendy's Texas Double Cheeseburger to my past-self.

It will be the most delicious burger I ever eat in my paradoxical life. ;_;

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Considering I only moved to Vegas a few years ago, I'd know no one here. My parents and my past self would still be in Hawaii, which means I could enjoy myself out here after finding a job for myself (the money in my wallet simply won't do). And since the real estate was so cheap back then, I'd save up and buy myself a nice 2-story house for well under $300K, start a business or something, make gobs of money, buy one of those $100K electric sports cars (when the time comes) and laugh at everyone complaining about gas prices (assuming my survival rate hasn't fallen to zero by the time 2008 rolls around).

If only.

What would be your new name?
Larry Page.

Can you survive off the money you have now?
No but in about 6 years time I think I'd be fine.

Would you use your knowledge of future events for your own person gain (all time traveling theories aside)?
See above.

Would you seek out the 1992 version of yourself?
No, I hate kids.

If given the option to jump back to present time, would you take it?
Not if things worked out the way I planned.

I was speaking idiomatically.

What would be your new name? Maria Dawes

Can you survive off the money you have now? Not for very long.

Would you use your knowledge of future events for your own person gain (all time traveling theories aside)? Oh, definitely, I'd use it to play the stock market.

Would you seek out the 1992 version of yourself? Yeah, if only because I couldn't resist the opportunity to see my rl character in 3rd person.

If given the option to jump back to present time, would you take it? As long as it meant jumping back into my present self.

I'd take advantage of the fact that TV wasn't as bad in 1992.

What would be your new name? Peter Griffon. Because family guy hasn't been invented yet and I'm lazy.

Can you survive off the money you have now? Nope

Would you use your knowledge of future events for your own person gain (all time traveling theories aside)? Of course, I always wanted to be a super villain and screwing with the fabric of time is the closest chance I'd get.

Would you seek out the 1992 version of yourself? Yeah and I'd tell him not to act like an idiot when a hot red head shows interest in him.

If given the option to jump back to present time, would you take it? After I had somehow made myself rich with some elaborite scheme yes.

Well, '92 seems like a good year. Let's see...

What would be your new name?

Jessica Cruz. When I was young I always wanted to be called Jessica and Cruz is almost like Kurcz, which is my maiden.

Can you survive off the money you have now?

Hell no.

Would you use your knowledge of future events for your own person gain (all time traveling theories aside)?

Quite possibly, if it meant me getting more ahead in my life than I am now.

Would you seek out the 1992 version of yourself?

Probably and not be such a quiet and reserved person.

If given the option to jump back to present time, would you take it?

Probably after I changed what would be future occurrences for me. If my life would be completely different and BETTER then yeah.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

What would be your new name?

Christopher Sasaki

Can you survive off the money you have now?

No way.

Would you use your knowledge of future events for your own person gain (all time traveling theories aside)?

Yes.

Would you seek out the 1992 version of yourself?

Probably, just to see how much of an idiot I was back in those days.

If given the option to jump back to present time, would you take it?

Not after I try fixing some of the mistakes I'll be making in the future and after I gain some extra cash.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

If I found myself in the past, I would try to get back as soon as possible. I think that the past shouldn't change and what has happened has happened for a reason. To me it just feels wrong mucking around in the past.

What would be your new name?
I'd say 'Chibi Neko' just to confuse people

Can you survive off the money you have now?
Sure could, things where cheaper back then

Would you use your knowledge of future events for your own person gain (all time traveling theories aside)?
I would find myself and and tell her of the illness that my cat would get, he may have lived much longer if we known more, and I would give myself the winning lottery numbers.

Would you seek out the 1992 version of yourself?
Sure

If given the option to jump back to present time, would you take it?
Oh yes.

What would be your new name?
J. Forrest Lamb.

Can you survive off the money you have now?
I currently have about £30 to my name. Not accounting for inflation, that could last me a week or so.

Would you use your knowledge of future events for your own person gain (all time traveling theories aside)?
Naturally. Sports/election bets, playing the stocks, you bet. I'd be reluctant to predict shit like 9/11 and be a big-arsed celebrity psychic/Guantanamo inmate though.

Would you seek out the 1992 version of yourself?
Possibly, but I doubt my two-year-old self would pay much heed to one of my YOU ARE NOTHING pep talks.

If given the option to jump back to present time, would you take it?
Entirely depends on what I'm making of myself by 1995 or so.

What would be your new name?
Doc Brown

Can you survive off the money you have now?
Yes. However, some things (namely computer-related) would be a LOT more expensive then than now. And wow...we'd be at Windows 3.1, right? And where was Linux at this point (my memory of the exact release date of Linux just when it was first set up is hazy, let alone a public release).

Would you use your knowledge of future events for your own person gain (all time traveling theories aside)?
Yes. However, how my decisions and efforts would affect my own future boggles the mind.

Would you seek out the 1992 version of yourself?
Yes. However, I'd be cautious not to change 'myself'.

If given the option to jump back to present time, would you take it?
Eventually, yes.
