Hey PC gamers, here's a deal you CAN'T miss.

Never mind that Fry's will go bankrupt, this will last you for 30 years of PC gaming XD

It almost looks like the papers they put sales ads in for grocery stores. You can find that RAM next to red peppers and generic cereals.

..you don't know what Fry's Electronics is, do you?

And besides, that wasn't the point. It says 512GB of RAM.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I guess Fry's loves to cater to the end user who likes to build their own mainframe and personal supercomputer.

Sooooo it's a misprint? I don't believe there's even a motherboard that can support 512GB of RAM.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

And it says "limit one per customer" so it's not like you can go load up on sticks until you have 512 GB.

I am pretty sure that the fine print accompanying their advertisements states they are not responsible for misprints.

If they were really to give you 512GB of PC-2100 DDR, that would be over 1000 sticks, not exactly a profitable situation for Fry's. Mistakingly putting a GB (or MB in the case of Hard Drives) marking is a very common way advertisements confuse people.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

True still most people know that it's a error, if only we really got 512gb worth of PC-2100 DDR well that would be great.

What would you do with it, 99.99% of people wouldn't be able to use 4GB of RAM on Windows XP, let alone 512GB. Of course, they'd be able to cache their entire hard drive to RAM, which would make even Windows XP run so silky smooth (you'd get read/write speeds over 500MB as opposed to 70MB even with the fastest consumer hard drives).

Quite true but I meant 512GB WORTH of PC-2100 DDR which in todays standards would mean 1000 512mb sticks

Not quite how it works....nice try. If you lived in America, you'd know the ins and outs of suing people for retarded things.

Obvious misprint, but what would be the point? Even if I had a theoretical magic motherboard that could take 512 GB worth of memory, PC2100 RAM from a generic vendor is not something I'd want to put in my computer no matter how cheap it is.

Well RAM performance (PC3200 vs PC2100) only matters if you run a very busy server or play games. Having slow RAM impacts system performance MUCH LESS than having too little RAM.

Not a lot of people do. I'm from the West Coast and go to a university in the East Coast and no one there has ever heard of Fry's. It started in California and I don't think it's moved beyond Texas. I could be wrong though.

512Gb would imply 64GB of RAM, which is what ISPs use (6Mbps sounds much more impressive than 750Kbps, and 56Kbps becomes 7 (!) Kbps).
