Okami sequel for DS (still would have been better on the sixaxis.....)

A few days ago there was some puzzling over Capcom owning rights to the name Okamiden, some people wondering if it means a sequel for Okami was on the way, and whether the name was short for Okami Gaiden or something similar. It was also predicted Famitsu would be showing the title in their next issue.

Now it seems Famitsu really does have screens of the game and it's set for DS in 2010 :3

Rumor: Famitsu scans show DS Okami sequel 'Okamiden'

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Without Clover studio?

The DS interface would work better though and hopefully the story won't be as long as the first.

Is it that long then? I'm currently playing through for the first time and have just got the wind technique thing after about ten hours and that includes a lot of running about looking for things. I'm getting a bit bored of the game now so might try to focus on the story just so I can finish it, how much more story (In terms of play time) have I got left to go? I would guess from the techniques I have that I'm about a third of the way through so far.

I finish Okami with about 40h of playtime and I was focusing almost only on the story. So yeah you got a lot before you.

As for this sequel, I think the ds is a good platform for it in term of gameplay. I just wished to see those beautiful graphic in higher resolution.

I was speaking idiomatically.

I got 42 hours or so.

Like Twilight Princess, it's one of those games that you can call long without talking about grinding. Keep at it Shin, the game has multiple acts and story gets really epic later on. Don't be fooled by the first twist though, everyone thinks it ends there.

How ya doing, buddy?

Okamiden First Trailer TGS Preview

So basically you are playing puppy Amaterasu. The gameplay seem like in slow motion but I suppose its for the purpose of the video.

It's the video itself. You can watch it at
http://www.capcom.co.jp/tgs2009/theater/index.html

and it runs much smoother, though now there's actual slowdown visible when the flowers grow. Looks adorable and I will preorder as soon as english version is confirmed.

Good god those comments though

Well, I think the brushing parts could actually be done quite well with the sixaxis motion controls on the PS3 controller.
Either he's confused what "sixaxis motion controls" are, or he should shoot himself in the head. is that aard...

wow I'm really impress by the graphic quality. They really manage to get almost the same quality as the ps2.

Oh wow! This is great news! I loved Okami and was wanting for more, and for them to release the sequel (prequel?) on the DS, it made me turn into a happy little bunny!

I heard that's not actually Ammy although they do look pretty similar. I wasn't going to get this but after viewing that video I may actually change my mind. It looks pretty stunning for the DS.

It's almost been five years since the DS launched in the US. Yeah, it ought to have a few good looking games by now.

Loved Okami even if it was almost too long at times. I'll be sure to get this game.
