secret underground level in NES rush'n attack?
I remember reading something about this secret underground level in the game but I can't seem to find any info on it...does this sound familiar to anyone? If so, please let me know how to get to it.

Yeah, if it's not mentioned in the guide (which seems to be pretty detailed by the looks of it and how much I had to use my wheel mouse) at GameFAQs then it's likely it doesn't exist. =(
