Thumbs up Truck Discussion Thread (including poll, grill discussion, etc etc)

Which truck brand do you like best? Discuss.

I prefer Nissans. Toyotas are not bad, but my family have always bought Nissans. I've never been disastified with them.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I drive a 98 GMC Sierra. Nothing too special, but it goes like a sonuvabitch (vortec ftw) and gets me around.

Personally, I'll always be a Chevy/GM truck guy. I've never driven a Ford truck that I like, and Dodge's are kinda goofy looking to me. But I will admit that I'd love an SRT-10.

I would never buy a Nissan or Honda truck. Ever. Aside from just generally not liking imports at all, I don't see the logic in buying a truck that comes from a country in which no one drives a pick-up every day.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I have a '98 Dodge Ram. Nothing finer for off-road driving. I've chugged this baby all over stuff to do field measurements, work on the farm, etc. It's a damn reliable truck and it handles nicely. The turning radius is a bit of a brute but, well, that's what you get with trucks, it seems. Mileage is nice and it also has a monstrous gas tank. Stock up on gas, don't come back for a refill for about three weeks.

A follow-up would be Chevy. That's what my dad drives full-time out in Hearne and it's just as reliable. Both of our trucks are quite reliable. Also, <3 Four-Wheel Drive.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
Hey, maybe you should try that thing Chie was talking about.

I drive a 91 Chevy Silverado; regular cab+short box. It's gun-metal gray with complete makeover with Euro head/tail/corner lights. I replaced the grille with one from a newer model because the old one was ugly as hell.

Unfortunately some asshat rammed something large into my truckbox while I was inside a store shopping. That really ruined my day because I lost the will to make my truck exterior any nicer. There's that and the trans is going. I should also take it for a tune-up soon too. :/

I have a 94 Silverado with 160,000 miles. It still runs great with minimal problems. Hauls all my fishing gear to the beach with no complainats and gets 17mpg with a 350 v-8. I love my old truck.

I was speaking idiomatically.

I like the look of the Chevy best. Apparently the book matches the cover. Go figure.

I've always wanted a truck, but the kind of truck I'd love to have is just a small Chevy S-10 pickup. Enough to haul some things around if it comes to it, but not some huge ass heavy duty thing that gets bad mileage.

S-10s are pretty solid all around. Like you said, you have the box to haul small things around (but that little box can fill up pretty damn quickly) and they get pretty much the average 4 door sedan. And for their size, they've got some alright balls.

On a compeltely unrelated note, I had that exact Lego Pirate Ship in your sig.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

That looks nice RAB. Holden, is that an Australian brand?

Take a look at this thread. It was closed, but which one of the three grilles looks better for a silver truck? Discuss.
