Suggestions for old gaming laptop
I have an old beefed-up IBM Thinkpad laptop with 128mb of ram, a 300mhz pentium 2 cpu and a 2mb onboard videocard and I wondered, aside from dos games (and windows 3.1/early win95 games), what else is there that I can put on this laptop? I thought Thief: the dark project, but I doubt I have the specs for that.
Any suggestions? Jam it back in, in the dark.

SNES emulation
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

ScummVM should work for you too.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |

Check out Good Old Games: GOG.com. The best part of their catalogue should be compatible, and right now they have a holiday sale with 30-50% off almost everything.
Ahh, just noticed your gfx card just misses out on the specs for planescape:torment. Anything earlier should work. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

You should be able to get hold of a bunch of really good old games with a bit of Google searching. If you're into strategy games, try to get hold of Master of Orion 2 and one of the first two Xcom games, UFO Enemy Unknown of Xcom Terror From the Deep.
I'm not sure if it still exists but there used to be a great site called Home of the Underdogs which had a ton of great old games, many of which were abadonware. Certainly worth looking for that but it might have been taken down now. FELIPE NO |
it's funny, I was here on the internet before google, and before hotu, despite just being 10yo back then. Anyway, I'll be sure to follow your suggestion; there's also this french site, LTF Lost Treasures Fr Abandonware France, l'histoire des vieux jeux video et retrogaming which has been around since 2000, and french is my native language so cheers. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Man, TIE Fighter ought to run on that. What else do you need.
