24 Season 5 Discussion

Yep, discuss the greatest show ever made. The latest season only.

Proceed with caution if you have missed or not caught up to an already aired episode.

Spoiler tags are a must on unaired episodes AND aired previews

And don't forget so I will know.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Care to explain the purpose of that?

I didn't mind seeing most of the main characters killed off or leave throughout the five seasons, but I still want some on the show. Tony will be back this season if the next (guessing) and kim and chase (not that main, only one season) are probably open to come back. From season 2 and 1, not many can come back, if any. Except that one guy who was on the boat at the end of season 2. Do you guys remember him? I forget his name, but at first I thought he was the Season 5 russian guy who just showed up. However, I am 100% sure it isnt after replaying season 2 in my mind. He was the one behind the bomb plot, but palmer mentioned capturing the men behind it in season3 episode 1.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

NO I was relating to the guy in SEASON 2, not season 5 assasination guy.

They left him out in the blue, but maybe 24 the game will clear him up.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Yeah ok, I misinterpreted what you said. The guy that was on the boat is either still out there or palmers mention of the plot in the first ep of season 3 was the resolution.

How ya doing, buddy?

Yeah, Aarron is fucking badass. Gotta love him. I like that he is getting a little more screentime this year. Basically, the only guys are who have been in every season so far, is Jack, Tony, Novick, Palmer and Aaron. And right now it's just Jack, Novick and Aaron who have had roles throughout each season primarily.

I was speaking idiomatically.

No haysbert, was only in the second one. The first lambert was actually better so he came back for the third.

Why is every episode a season finale episode for other shows. I mean come on brilliant episodes every week for like 5 years. CRAZZZy.

Silent clock should have been used if he is really dead, which he probably is. It was necessary and they failed on that. You can't have such a beloved character and such a badass (not jack level, but still) and not use the clock after what he has gone through throughout the 5 seasons. I kind of wish he makes it though, but I can see why they did it. This just gives Jack more motive to fucking kick ass because of the loss of all of his TRUE friends in the same day. Palmer, Michelle and now Tony. Tony and Jack were much closer then the former two as seen by Jack losing it like he did at the end of Season 3 cutting off Chase' arm.

Another Emmy/GG nom for kiefer next year no doubt about it. Probably win too. Also this season has been probably the best since season 1 and 2. 4 was a joke, still better then anything on TV, but not comparable.

And I can't believe that Kim is just leaving.

Also, PlutoKnight mentined
Spoiler:
something about Curtis dying
with the spoiler tag, but everyone was using it when it was not necessary to discuss the latest ep. Do not ever EVER do this again because I don't want to READ ANYHING NO MATTER HOW VAGUE IT IS THAT RELATES TO LATER EPS. I know you used spoiler tags, but use them correctly please, so other people can read others thoughts with hesistancy. I hope that came out clear.

Another cool episode. I like how they keep replaying that new Season 5 track that is reminicent of the Season 1 "Jack Bauer on the Move" track.

See I was talking about villains earlier in this thread when the beginning of season 5 was going and how the guy before Bierko wasn't a REAL villain compared to the guys earlier like the drazens, Peter Kingsley, Gaines and even Saunders. However, no one will be as great as Nina Meyers. Anyways, Bierko wasn't a true villain either, but he was better then the earlier guy. Although Henderson is definitely a great villain! Looking forward to seeing what happens. Season 5 could turn out to be near the top seasons if not the top one, if it keeps going this way.

Sutherland bumped to executive producer for the next three seasons eh. Pretty cool, pretty cool. And the film is still looking like it is going to happen. This would occur even when the TV show is going on I guess.

Yeah I saw that long ass preview for it somewhere. It actually looks decent, and he is playing a Secret Service agent I think. Of course, he would never play it the same way as Bauer.

However, I may actually like to hear him in The Wild moreso. He has been voice acting that movie for the past 5 years at least.

1>2>5 or 3>4 (probably 5 over 3. Very close to call)

This is the clear order. I am not going to go into details, but nonetheless.

Anyway, season finale was good, but I do agree with you all that it wasn't the greatest finale. Season 5 had the potential to be one of the best seasons, but it started losing steam around the halfway point.

http://www.emmys.org/awards/2006pt/a...writingdra.php

So I think 24 is actually going to take most of the awards this year, even though I don't consider this season its greatest season. However, it was watched by the most people.

Quote:
"24," with what many considered its strongest season, led all series with 12 nominations, followed by “Grey’s Anatomy” with 11. Both received best drama series bids and were joined in the category by “House,” “The Sopranos” and “The West Wing.”For “24,” Kiefer Sutherland received a best-actor bid.
The other BIG noms here include President Logan (Itzin) and even Martha for Best Supporting Actress

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

For some reason I thought kiefer won for the first season, but that was the golden globes for one season.

And Lost beat it last year, don't know if that was much deserved even though season 4 was the worst season. Just goes to show you how much Lost sucks now, now that it isnt even nominated. And the West Wing, Sopranos, won already. And there is no way House will get it. So its really all Greys, and 24.

And yeah it seems to win almost all of the obscure awards every time.
