Christmasy games

I feel like playin' some games saturated with christmasy themed goodness. The only game that comes to mind is (Christmas) NiGHTS, but sadly I don't own a Sega Saturn.

Even games with a few christmasy levels (like in platformers, etc) would be nice to play.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I hate promoting stupid Square Enix games but Kingdom Hearts 2 has an area with a Christmas theme to it.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Shenmue 1 had a long Christmas section to it, since the game takes place before Christmas and then into the early months of the next year.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

For the Genesis there's an entire game devoted to the theme, it's called Days Before Christmas (I think). You play as santa clause, running around gathering presents. Pretty much a standard platformer.

For the DS there's Elf Bowling, I've never played it but I'll assume it's a port of the shitty flash game.

If you have a GCN, Animal Crossing is all about Christmas this time of year.

Other than that, I can think of Bomberman 64, the Donkey Kong Country series, Ape Escape 2&3, and Tomba 2 have some nice Christmas/Winter levels.

I was speaking idiomatically.

The game Snatcher takes place at Christmastime, without actually concerning itself with the holiday. It even includes a jazzy little version of Jingle Bells when you visit the shopping center. Phantasy Star Online had its own Jingle mix for the season, if I remember right.

Secret of Mana deserves a mention, too -
Spoiler:
what with the Frost Gigas basically being Santa gone Hulk.

Oh, and Parasite Eve. Surprised that wasn't mentioned yet.

There's a Christmas winter-ish version of Jazz Jackrabbit out there. It's pretty fun.

And you can download a Christmas theme for Kameo on Xbox 360. It looks cute, but doesn't really change the game.

Hmm, I just looked up the game you mentioned and it seems to be titled "The Daze Before Christmas"...damn homophones.

And yeah, I've got Animal Crossing: Wild World for the DS; that should have a wintry theme right about now. And of course there's Ape Escape, I'll definitely be playing the series' christmas levels soon enough (Snowball Mountain just epitomizes a monkey X-Mas)

Really? Oh well, I guess I've never read too much on the game, so that shouldn't really come as a surprise to me. *looks up the game*

James Pond 2: Robocod is a pretty nifty old platform game. IIRC, the entire story revolves around a Christmas theme, with the games 'hub' being a snowy castle, and the various levels being based on different toys.

It was released on everything.

WoW has some kind of christmas event.

I don't really remember what it was like, since the last time I saw it was in 2004, but it'll be implemented again soon enough.

THE EARTH.

It's seriously not that bad. You get to swing your sack at enemies. You know, to save the Earth. Lemmings Christmas is also probably floating around Abandonware sites, snow snow everywhere let's all have a drink.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Whoa such an impressive title, there. A bit daunting, but awesome nonetheless.

Heh, I've actually played that game before and you're right, Infernal...it's not that bad...

Christmas NiGHTS, of course, as you said. (Which I am lucky enough to own a copy of). Other than that, I can't think of anything in particular.

There was an awesome one level crossover version of Cannon Fodder/Sensible Soccer on the Amiga that had you leading your troops across a snowy football pitch against twenty two machine gun toting players. I never did get to the other side.

Actually, the snowy levels of Cannon Fodder in general are pretty christmassy.

There was an actual Xmas edition of Cannon Fodder.
Now if we could get Cannon Fodder on the Wii already.

You can be pretty sure Guild Wars will have a lot of christmas related stuff too, maybe even now. Haven't played it in ages.

That's what came to mind for me as well. Freezezzy Peak.

Also Diddy Kong Racing. I'm thinking of that Walrus Cove song right now.

It's not exactly Christmasy, but I'm going to mention Toejam & Earl since it's all about opening presents. Plus you can actually get Santa to drop some if you creep up on him unnoticed.

Actually, it's a port of a PC game, a series that spawned 6 sequels!

You could play Maple Story or some other MMO, as they're sure to have some Xmas themes.

That's all I got. It sucks that you don't have Christmas NiGHTS, though.

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow has a lot of snow and makes me think of Christmas...and Starii from Meteos also has some holiday cheeriness vibe going on.

...I'll be in the corner if anybody needs me. *Drink*

It turns out that today is opposite day, so all of what you have said is true, so you should probably just go.

There was Toy Commander Christmas Edition on the Dreamcast, which I think was only released in Europe, but don't hold me to that. It was an okay game, I guess!

The Bouncer's setting outside the bar is pretty "Christmasy" but maybe it's just me because I got the game in December.

Errrm another game that came to mind was Paper Mario. PM has a level where it seems christmasy. Lots of snow, cute penguins, joyous music, you can even see some christmas presents in the background of the houses.

Another mario game that has a christmas theme stage is Mario Party 5 (Atleast I think it's the 5th one).

Super Mario 64! How could you people not have mentioned it yet?

I forget the name of the level, but the snowy levels in that game always give off a christmasy vibe. Very nice.

I was also going to mention Freezezzy peak, from Banjo-Kazooie. Great game, great level.
