15? You could tape them to your body and make some crude motion capture suit! (Actually, I see that coming eventually. Why just sensors for your hand? Why not your torso and feet!)

On-topic though, when syncing extra remotes to the Wii it might take a couple tries. Mine didn't sync at first. The blue lights flash a few times, then there should be a steady blue light that comes on denoting whether it's the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th controller. I tried pitching to myself and hitting the ball in the baseball game.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

I am incredibly ticked right now.

My frikkin' Wii decided two nights ago to just up and refuse to read ANY discs, gamecube OR Wii.

I've emailed Nintendo, but they haven't gotten back to me yet. *sigh*

And I was having such a good track record with Nintendo's reliability, too...

I struck gold today at Toys R Us, so now I have my Wii as well. We strolled in at 11:15am, vaguely hoping we might find one lonely Wii hidden in a corner. Instead, we found them lining the shelves above the counter and stacked up back there as well. They'd apparently just finished unloading a new batch, and I got the 15th from the last Wii.

I won't know for sure if it's defect-free until I get home Sunday night and can hook it up, but I'm not concerned. The wiimote's battery case is a bit loose, but only enough to make a little clicking noise when I hold it.

My dad decided I could have it and Zelda early (rather than wait til Christmas) after he had fun with Wii Sports, so now I just have to get through the next two weeks of final papers and exams without becoming too addicted. That's going to be painful. ;_;

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Damn, I called Toys 'R' Us at around that time, but gave up after they had me on hold for almost 5 minutes. I wonder if they were busy unloading a new shipment.

I still have to hit up some stores looking for this evil console

My one hope is that rumor of BB restocking their Wiis on sunday. If not I'll have to go to random TRUs and BBs looking for them D:

Not sure how many they got in, but it was at least 30. They even announced over the intercom when they had 8 left since no one else was getting in line. I think they just wanted to get it over with so the woman giving out tickets could get back to doing her normal job.

How ya doing, buddy?

I'm eagerly anticipating the European launch! By the way, while I patiently wait, I have some doubts I'd like to expose here.

Firstly, did they fix that update bug that could theoretically mess up the whole system? I have read some reports about the matter, but I didn't grasp the state of things as they are currently.

Besides, is the Opera Browser available in the Wii Shop? I had read about it being free until a certain date, so I suppose it's been actually released along with the system's launch. Is that so?

Thanks in advance for these clarifications.

I hear the bug was fixed on the 2nd batch of shipments, so you might not
have to worry about that problem~ As for the Opera web browser,
it's not downloadable yet in the Wii Shop here in the US, and i'm pretty
sure you'd have to buy it with Wii Points as well.

Last I heard the Opera browser will be available around the end of December and completely free until some time around June 2007.

I'm glad to hear the bug was fixed in the second batch. Hopefully I won't have to worry about that problem then.

I know that mine was 2nd shipment because I saw it come out of the cardboard box yesterday morning at 7:10 am.

I just bought a Linksys Wireless - G broadband router and got it up and running with the Wii in no time. Using WAP2 security, and it did the system update no problem. I'm planning on getting Mario 64 simply because I never had an N64, and possibly Bonk's Adventure.

I could swear that the music playing in the shopping channel is from Katamari Damacy 2...

Hows battery life for everyone? From sat - sat Controller 1 has run out of power. Which... sucks. But I put new batteries in and turned off the speaker and rumble. See how long they last this time. I'm sure they will come out with some kinda rechargeable battery pack for the back of the remote. Or hell.. I should just go get some rechargable batteries.

The battery died quickly for me as well. it was less than a week. Although to be fair, there was QUITE a lot of gaming. I'm sure rumble and the speaker don't help though.

A rechargeable pack for it would definitely be awesome.

I've played over 10hrs of Zelda, and some (8) rounds of different Wii Sports games. I also made quite a few Mii's and dinked around in the menu for a long time. Haven't even had the battery hit half yet. I'm pretty stoked about the battery life. Much better than I had feared it would be.

So what's the final word on the blue light surrounding the disc slot? Does it only come on during sytsem start-up, or when there is a disc being ejected or inserted, or is it supposed to stay on all the time? I've heard a couple of different things...

When there's a new message or new mii or some new content, the light will blow glue. It's a little bit annoying since it's right next to my bed. I wish there was a way to turn it off.

Thanks for the info. It would be cool if, when Nintendo releases new colors of Wii, they change the colors of the led's on the controllers and the disc slot to match. For example, a black Wii could have red lights on the controller and the disc slot. I wonder how long until someone swaps out the colors through modding...

I believe there is...

It's under Wii options -> Wii settings -> WiiConnect24 (on Page2) -> Slot Illumination. Bright_Dim_OFF settings available.

Best Buy told me point blank that they have no Wiis for sale tomorrow, but everyone on Cheap Ass Gamer is saying the stores are lying if they say that. Maybe I'll run by a few minutes before opening and hope there isn't a line.

I confirmed it with the manager and store clerks here that they were going to have some Wiis for sale tomorrow, but that was only because they said they didn't look forward to unloading them.

I don't know if this will be for all stores but that's for the one here. I hope there are not that many campers since they said they were getting less than 10 Wiis

Don't forget you can send pictures + messages to your friends~
I just tested it out now by sending Jazzflight a pic and message.

If you don't know how:

1) Insert an SD card with photos stores on it (jpg).
2) Open Photo Channel and post them on your Photo Forum
3) Now they can be accessed in the Mail Channel
4) Click on the photo and just click on send and type a message as usual
to whom you'd like to send it to.

Let's star sharing pictures and stuff ^_____^

Realized that I should probably use a standard format...and that I need more than just a camera with SD memory to do so on the PC. Getting a SD reader soon.
