Movie News That Doesn't Deserve Its Own Thread Thread
So a bunch of movie news comes out but sometimes its small, and theres not really a point of making a thread about one trailer when no new news will come out for a while.
So, this thread! To start it off, how is this Heath Ledger? Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Well, I'm sure you know thats fake given that the script hasn't been completed, so pre-production hasn't even started, let alone casting.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
I actually didn't but i guess summer 2008 does seem kind of far .
Well apart from the possibility of a fake poster as the opening post, i'm sure the thread could still have some use. Most amazing jew boots |
IMDB reported that they're reportedly thinking about Mark Hamill taking on the roll, live action, for the first time.
In a perfect world, it would happen. But who's to say they'll even use Joker? Having the playing card at the end of Begins doesn't mean anything if Two Face goes from Billy Dee Williams to Tommy Lee Jones between movies. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Mark Hamill would be so fitting, seeing as he's voiced the Joker for so long. I think Jack Nicholson should make a cameo somewhere if the next movie does involve Joker. It'd be a cool little reference to the first movie.
I was speaking idiomatically. |
As appropriatley creepy that picture is, I still cannot fathom anyone other then Mark Hamil or Jack Nickolson playing Joker.
Comics Spoiler below: Spoiler:
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
When's the last time Mark Hamill even acted for real? The last time I saw him do live action was a guest appearance in the sitcom Just Shoot Me.

Of course that was the original plan but for now they're just focusing on getting The Joker in the sequel. Heck there's even a nod to him in Superman Returns. Other movie news....actor Mako, who was set to voice Splinter in the new TMNT CG movie, passed away over the weekend: http://news.toonzone.net/article.php?ID=11741

Other news about movies that are a ways off includes a poster for the new Star Trek movie, which indicates both that they're going actually to make one, and that they're definately going back to the original series crew.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
JJ Abrams is hoping to direct as well as write - but has gotten neither job at the moment. StarTrek.com has the teaser poster in several variations for downloadable wallpaper.

If JJ Abrams writes/directs it, you know it's going to start off extremely awesome and then just be anticlimactic right at the end.
To quote Mitch Hedberg: "but the first and the middle part are amazing!" I was speaking idiomatically. |
Recently though there have been alot of rumors floating around Heath Ledger as Joker. Reportedly it comes from the same source that first said (and were right) that Routh was going to be Superman. Still though, I hope they go for either Paul Bettany or Adrien Brody, as previously rumored. But yeah, you're right. No casting (aside from Bale) is confirmed yet and this is all just speculation. How ya doing, buddy? GI Joe is the codename for America's highly trained special mission force. Its purpose: to defend human freedom against COBRA. A ruthless terrorist organization determined to rule the world. 24 can't jump the shark. Jack Bauer ate the shark long ago. Now 24 can only jump the water, and that doesn't mean anything. - Jazzflight <Krizzzopolis> acid you are made of win. <Dissolution> And now my god damn scissors are all milky |

Forgive me, but I don't understand how these movies are working, exactly.
Are they supposed to be remakes of the previous movies, or are they going for their own set of movies here altogether? If it's the second one, then I really hope it's going to have the same mood as Batman Begins. FELIPE NO |
The latter. It's essentially a restart since Batman Forever and Batman & Robin just dragged the series through the mud and butt fucked it with a barbed horse cock. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
If the Joker is to be in the next movie, then I'd say it's going to be its own creature, seperate from the original movies. I think it'd be refreshing. Kinda like disregarding the old movies and forgetting they ever happened. Ah-nuld as Mr. Freeze... I mean really.

Fuck you assholes |
Take a look at who's rumored to be playing Harvey Dent/Two-Face.

I didn't know that much... that sucks. He really did a great job as Aku from Samurai Jack. I wonder who will or could replace him now :\ This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |

I was speaking idiomatically. I didn't say I wouldn't go fishin' with the man.
All I'm sayin' is, if he comes near me, I'll put him in the wall. |

However... I still think it's unlikely they'll actually cast him. In a perfect world, they would, but I'm sure they'll end up going with Heath Ledger (bleh) or Paul Bettany or one of those types. *sigh* What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
