Playing a LAN game of Star Craft

If I wanted to play a LAN game of Star Craft with my brother, would I need two seperate CD's to play, or would it be fine if we just install the game on both computers and not bother with using the CDs?

Sorry if that was hard to understand. I couldn't exactly find the right way to ask the question...

Well you need CDs to play the games (unless you have a No-CD crack), but as far as I know, the game doesn't check for CD-Key conflicts when playing on LAN.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

So that whole needing-the-CD thing is just for online games via Battle.net and for LAN games, both computers don't need the CD?

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

If you crack it, you won't be able to play online. So you DO need the CD.

Can't you install a spawn copy on one of the computers and it'll be play via LAN at least?

I was speaking idiomatically.

Yes, but there's no point, as the game does not check for CD-Key conflicts via Lan play.

There is a point, though. You don't need the disc to play a "spawned" copy. This is especially important since the original question was wether two CDs would be necessary for LAN play.

Another way is if you turn the volume for music off in game, you can play without the cd, in game. so you load up to the menu screen then swap the cd to the other computer. the game only needs the cd for music after you load up.

Jam it back in, in the dark.
