CNN.com's Ironic Death Article of the Day

Miss Deaf Texas hit by train.

Who lets someone deaf walk around train tracks? Honestly?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Now that going to www.fark.com has become part of my daily ritual, that doesn't seem so surprising.

I fail to see the irony.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

maybe if they were paralyzed and were left on the train tracks....but being deaf doesn't really seem to relate that much. She should still SEE it.

Does anyone know if Miss Parapalegic Texas died from over-exhaustion? Woah boy.

I found this article to be quite funny, but saddening at the same time

I was speaking idiomatically.

Or, more likely, be able to feel the ground vibrating. Big heavy trains do tend to make the surrounding ground vibrate a crapload, after all. There's probably something else to the story the article failed to mention. Maybe she was drunk, or fell onto the tracks. Either way, it'd be interesting to know.

I did think that article was funny, but I've found the way they phrase their video clips even funnier. Now you get headlines like:

Watch: Grandma hit by train
Watch: Terrorists torture hostages
Deer jumps in front of 18 wheeler, causes 20 car pileup: Watch
5 year old electrocuted by faulty blender: Watch

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

If you read the article, you read that the train blew its horn.

She can't hear it.

You'd think she would have felt the vibrations of the train coming.

How ya doing, buddy?

She's texan. As such you have to expect her to be either flipping brilliant or bloody stupid. There's not much in between among texans.

Maybe this is just me, but I would think if I was walking on railroad tracks that I'd catch myself looking around to see if a train was coming, whichever way I'd be walking on them, even if I wasn't hearing one coming. (Several times, if I was walking on and along the tracks.) You never know how fast one of those might be coming, especially if it's one of those bullet trains. They could be not there one moment, and bearing down on you the next.
