Looking forward to this album BIGTIME.
Tool is one of the best bands ever, and I'm sure this album won't disappoint.

I'm not too sure about that. Lateralus was such a great album they'll have a hard job creating something that's better than that.

Just pre-ordered my album~~~ Together with the last APC album I didn't have yet. That makes me have 3 Tool DVD-single, 1 APC DVD-single, 1 APC DVD album (aMotive), 1 APC remix album, 3 APC albums and 5 Tool albums.

I was speaking idiomatically.

I heard Vicarious and thought it was well done. It seems like a natural progression from Lateralus and I definitely enjoyed it. I eagerly await this album.

I feel that Aenima was so overrated. I don't get what's so great about it. They have a couple of songs that are worthy of listening here and there, yet they don't take me on a journey like Lateralus, or really get me pumped up like Undertow. 10,000 Days seems like it'll be a combination of all their previous albums, plus some influenced snatched up over the years from touring bands, or elsewhere.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I have the leaked full version of Vicarious and I love it. I am definitely looking forward to this new album. I am hoping that my local music store is taking reservations. I'm gonna go check on Thursday as that's my payday. I will be really surprised if iTunes has this too. Cause they don't have anything of Tool.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

The whole album is leaked now. It's not anywhere as good as Lateralus though. Find it on a torrent site, download it, and judge yourself.

I downloaded it and I think its decent. I think it is better than Lateralus but not as amazing as Aenima.

Aenima and Lateralus seem pretty equal to me. Aenima, is more exciting, but overall the musicianship is better on Lateralus.

Then again, seeing Tool perform on the Lateralus tour pretty much sets me up for a bias.

Listened to the leaked version of 10,000 Days and I intend to buy it in May.

By "natural progression" I'll assume that you meant it was just an outtake of Schism with some different lyrics.

The whole album is great in my opinion. It's a typical Tool album, of course. I'd have to say my personal favorite off the album is "Rosetta Stoned."

A b-side is a song that is on the opposite side of the record as the single. So, a b-side of Schism would be a completely different song than Schism...

The Pot, both Wings versions, and Right In Two are my favorite tracks. Typical tool album but still good.

Gave this a listen earlier today, and I think for some reason I've outgrown tool. They just aren't that appealing to me anymore. I went through the whole "tool is the greatest band ever!" phase when I was about 18-20, but I'm over it. The new album in many ways just sounds like they're going through the motions. There's nothing really new or distinct to set it apart from Lateralus. Maybe if I listen to it more, I'll grow on me. As for now, Undertow remains my personal fav as far as tool albums go.

Opiate is always fun to listen to if you're trying to get all pumped up for something.

I hope this "leaked album" is real, though. Anyone remember what Tool did when Lateralus was coming out? They released a whole bunch of phoney different promos going by different album names and leaked them before the actual release. People believed it like it was a hot knife in butter. The leader of the band is into fooling its audience in many ways. :p

But fake or not, this 10,000 Days, whatever it may be, seems to be Tool's best album yet. Can't get enough of listening to it, an actual conjured thematically whole album. Tool's had always a bit of a fight to get some red line in there, but I think they succeeded this time.

Sorry, it was late when I posted that.
I meant to say that Vicarious sounds an outtake of Schism with some new lyrics.

I'll fix the original post, yo.

I really like 10,000 Days. I intend to buy it as soon as I have money. The "Wings For Marie / 10,000 Days" 2-parter is awesome (especially since it made me realize what APC's song "Judith" was about). I also really like "The Pot," "Intension," and "Right in Two." My only complaint would be the length of the three filler tracks—10 minutes of the album total, including a 5-minute ambient/creepy outro. I know Lateralus had in-between tracks and "Faaip de Oiad" as a closer, but at least they were short and spaced out somewhat. I dunno, just seemed like more, somehow.

A friend of mine sent me some of the tracks off of the album. I alredy herd Rosetta Stoned off the radio....but I still like it. The other songs arn't half bad eather. I'm deffenatly going to buy it when it comes out since I'm not one to take songs without buying the album.

Jam it back in, in the dark.
