Man, in this battle, two nominators have two tracks: TheKnightOfNee has Larmes de la lune and Reflection into the EDEN, and Draconis has Galway Is God 2000 and In The Wind.

So far, when a nominator has had two tracks in a battle, I don't think either has placed. I wonder how this one will play out.

Obviously, Draconis and I will sweep this week with no problem.

Seriously though, this is easily the best battle week I've seen yet, and probably the best overall week. And I don't just say that because I have two noms in here. 6 of these tracks got the most points from me in their respective weeks. The only one I didn't give points was In The Wind, which was only due to it being one of 7 awesome tracks from the awesome week known as last week.

Define "placed". It's sort of a shame that we don't have runner-ups for battle weeks. If we did, I'd be doing pretty well. I've had 1 battle win, 3 second-place tracks and 1 third-place track. (Another placed 5th or 6th, I don't recall which.)

Anyhow, here's some points:

3 Points: Senko no Ronde -Sound Tracks- - assemble
2 Points: FX3 - Choppastyle
1 Point: Back in Time II - Galway Is God 2000

Ah yes, bad phrasing. By "placed" I meant "won."

Week 104: Gradius III - In The Wind I didn't give this any points last week, but I might have if its competition had been a little weaker. It's got some nice bits, though it treads close to being cheesy at times.

Week 103: beatmaniaIIDX 14 GOLD ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACKS - Reflection Into the EDEN I must've been the only person who didn't give this any points given its margin of victory. Aside from the rather unusual use of bagpipes, it's just easy listening music that I can't get into much.

Week 102: Senko no Ronde -Sound Tracks- - assemble More easy listening that I didn't particularly care for at the time. Some neat ethnic vocals, but nothing else that really interested me.

Week 101: Snow in Saigon - Larmes de la lune A dark piece that uses a small ensemble to create a haunting, childlike melody and atmosphere. I tend to enjoy moody pieces like this, especially when they feature good piano work. Good stuff.

Week 100: FOR BRIGHTER DAY Phantasy Star Universe Original Sound Track - Ukishima Likely the last Phantasy Star track we'll see in SoTW. It has all the ingredients that make the best PS tracks--intricate techno beats, some acoustic touches. But since the piece is heavily influenced by Asian classical music and lacks a particularly strong melody, I wasn't a fan.

Week 99: Back in Time II - Galway Is God 2000 Despite being non-VGM, this is a capable techno piece which improves as it goes along. The seven-minute running time is a tad bloated--a minute could be shaved off the beginning without losing anything good--it still works well.

Week 98: FX3 - Choppastyle Never thought I'd vote for anything with "choppa" in its name, but this song develops into a nice chiptune-style treat with a good melody and rhythm (and some terrific interludes to boot).

Week 97: Within a Deep Forest (Game Rip) - Diamond Meditation I didn't see much in this at the time--it's short and painfully underdeveloped. Time hasn't done much to make me appriciate it more.

Not the best bunch of winners in my opinion, but there are still some standouts.

The Point Spread
3 pts. - Larmes de la Lune
2 pts. - Galway's God Complex
1 pt. - Choppastyle

EDIT: Nom time.

Well, what do you know. TKON and I both started SotW'ing at about the same time, got first gold at about the same time, got a second at about the same time soon after, and then each of our two golds happened to coincide in the same group, resulting in this first-of-a-kind, epic battle! Still got a 50/50 chance of either of us placing, so let's see how it goes. =)

Week 99: Back in Time II - Galway Is God 2000 Despite being non-VGM, this is a capable techno piece which improves as it goes along. The seven-minute running time is a tad bloated--a minute could be shaved off the beginning without losing anything good--it still works well.
If by non-VGM you meant as an original piece (composed by a VGM composer), it is not. It is a remix of not one, but two game themes, as I pointed out here earlier.

God, points are so hard to assign this week. Though, I think I already know what's going to win.

Because I'm selfish:
2 points - beatmaniaIIDX 14 GOLD ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACKS - Reflection Into the EDEN
2 points - Snow in Saigon - Larmes de la lune

Because these two are awesome songs:
1 point - Senko no Ronde -Sound Tracks- - assemble
1 point - Within a Deep Forest (Game Rip) - Diamond Meditation

Because I... augh I'm out of points! I think I might have to take points away from my noms just to give other songs more points.

EDIT - Nomination

Artist: NO-BRAND (aka Noriyuki Iwadare)
Album Title: Devil Crash / Alien Crush
Track Title: Devil Crash "Heavy Metal"
Track Number: 11
Catalog Number: TKCA-30097
Year: 1990
Source: Game Music Revolution

I almost went with "Skeleton", until I realized that set of two measures repeated for like 5 minutes.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Oh hey, I did nominate the Megadrive version of this song, back in week 81. Awesome. And why not consider "Devil"?

Real life, soul searching, that silly "what am I going to do with my life" thing that people go through (lol) is impeding my ability to do stuff on the internet, as evident by my absence last week. Shame, I thought as I listened to the tracks a couple days ago, the week was killer. In fact, seeing the above average quality of the previous few weeks, this could very well be SotW at it's prime.

My next nom:

Composer: Nu Romantic Productions
Game: Bugs Bunny in Rabbit Rampage
Track: Things That Go Bugs in the Night
Track #: 10 on SPC rip
Year: 1994
Source: Game profile: Bugs Bunny in Rabbit Rampage ~ SNESmusic.org , Bugs Bunny Rabbit Rampage for SNES - MobyGames
Additional Info: About damn time.

Quick and easy. If the track got points, I liked it. If it didn't, I probably don't. Unless its' name is Diamond Meditation, which was a great tune, but I didn't like the synth.

3 pts - In the Wind
2 pts - Choppastyle (would have voted for this anyway prior...great tune!)
1 pts - Galway is God 2000
Just missed (but was tempting) - Diamond Meditation

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Holy cow, that's a huge jam in the middle of the standings. Aside from Choppastyle pulling away, it seems this was a pretty balanced battle week.

Also, I see it's a good thing I didn't nominate something from Planet Puzzle League, as CHz had already nominated something from that game.
