Did I really not nominate anything? Whooops, I feel like an idiot.
Uh, here's a nom. Artist: Y&Co Album: BEST HIT YCO Track title: Eco ji feat. mioco Track #: 15 Source and other stuff: LC-2124 | BEST HIT YCO - VGMdb Notes:Y&Co is Remo-con and DJ Boss, aka Tetsuya Tamura and Akira Yokota. This sounds like silly 80's pop music and features some Japanese vocals. YOU CAN THANK ME LATER. There's nowhere I can't reach.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Nomination #86
Composer: SonicPicnic Album: Awesomenauts Track Title: Wormhole Surfing Track Number: 4 Year: 2012 Catalog Number: N/A Additional Information: So much awesome from which to choose..also, most agonising 3-month wait EVER Skipping my way to the FTP (of course). I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
I'll make up for my lack of nominating with some quick and attentive voting:
(3 points) Globulous Original Soundtrack - Dawn Oblique: No idea what the track name means, but everything else is downright beautiful. I think the subtle electronic underpinnings gives it more depth than if it were a straight up piano and strings track. (2 points) Crapman (Game Rip) - Track 12: So many things to say about this one. What's up with the name? I love it. Completely intentional because it was the most blatant Pac-Man copy ever? And let's not obscure the track, which has an unbelievably enjoyable beat. Top stuff. (1 point) Tunnel B1 Soundtrack - Nemesis: Steep drop off to this point. Nothing amazing here, but the opening percussion sets up the mood nicely and makes way for a sufficient action exploration track. And wow, the first Turok 2 GBC tune that I didn't immediately fall in love with. I was speaking idiomatically. |
7 noms? What next, 5?! :X
3 points: Turok 2: Seeds of Evil (GBC Game Rip) - Base Stage Yeah I'm a sucker for this entire soundtrack. This one is more serious and intense than the BSC offerings this year. I love the haunting melody in the second half of each loop. 2 points: Crapman (Game Rip) - Track 12 Was honestly expecting something hilariously bad and badly hilarious here, but it's just seriously enjoyable. 1 point: Globulous Original Soundtrack - Dawn Oblique I was only slightly underwhelmed with the Globulous soundtrack. It's a great, easy listen but not something to listen to if you're after some good melodic hooks and the like. This is a good choice to nominate. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

<<3 Points>> Globulous Original Soundtrack - Dawn Oblique
<<2 Points>> Metropolis Street Racer (Game Rip) - Outside In <<1 Point>> Tunnel B1 Soundtrack - Nemesis FELIPE NO |
2 points: Formula 1 Simulator (C64 Game Rip) - Track 1
2 points: Metropolis Street Racer (Game Rip) - Outside In 2 points: Tunnel B1 Soundtrack - Nemesis Just missed: Track 12, Skullker Drill Missile (Area 6) This week was right up my alley, as it has my two most favorite composers. Track 12 was awesome for sure and would've gotten points in lesser weeks, but fierce competition this week. Skullker Drill Missile sounds like a Mega Man reject, although I'd say it's way better than anything from 7 or 8. Nemesis is probably the best song from an experimental Hülsbeck soundtrack. Either way, I enjoy the soundtrack a lot, I've even nominated Oceanos for SotW before. Base Stage is one Turok 2 GBC tune I don't see myself ever getting sick of. Nomination:

I'm back! In addition to spending time in Frenchland, I also brought back a horrible contagion from those shores. So yay me. If the zompocalpyse starts next week just call me patient zero.
Crapman (Game Rip) - Track 12 Without any context I have no way of knowing if this is a real or faux chippie but it's done in the more tolerable version of the C64 trilly schtick. Good stuff all around, especially those phat, phat beats. Drill Dozer (Game Rip) - Skullker Drill Missile (Area 6) My mind subconsciously adds the missing "fuc" back into that drill missile area. It could just be the fever, though. I'd have pegged this as a SNES tune if not for the fact that it's tinnier than the Woodsman, but it's a good frenetic tune sound quality issues aside. Formula 1 Simulator (C64 Game Rip) - Track 1 A real genuine Commodore song to compete with the (possibly) faux one above. Convenient. Dig the chippy beat, not so much the occasional SFX and occasional C64 Fatigue. Globulous Original Soundtrack - Dawn Oblique One listen to this in the latest Game Music Bundle and I knew it'd be my next nom. Muzz is right in that it's the best song of an occasionally underwhelming bunch, but the sound is just incredible: piano washes, violin, and synths mixing into a peaceful and otherworldly soundscape. Metropolis Street Racer (Game Rip) - Outside In Don't they know that Superman wins all street races in Metropolis, always? He will brook no competition and hurls unruly racers into the sun. The laid-back elevator jazz reflects that grim fate. Tunnel B1 Soundtrack - Nemesis Interesting soundscape, but a little thin for my taste. I'm sure it would be great in the game but seems to suffer a bit of an identity crisis away from it. Turok 2: Seeds of Evil (GBC Game Rip) - Base Stage Our unlikely Chiptune of the Year coughs up yet another song. Not quite up to the standards of the others, perhaps, but still manages to apply a few tried-and-true C64 tricks to wring a nicely complex sound out of the GBC's underpowered sound chip. The Point Spread Dawn Oblique - 3 pts. Crapman (not even gonna touch that one) - 1 pt. Drilldozer! - 1 pt. Base Stage - 1 pt. Nomination! Album: InMomentum Composer: Gareth Coker Disc #: 1 (of 1) Track #: 4 Track Title: Zoned In Year: 2011 Source: inMomentum - VGMdb Notes: It came from the Game Music Bundle! Again! Seriously guys I own them all so until further notice all noms come from bundles forever How ya doing, buddy?

Not western enough, CHz
2 points: Nemesis 2 points: Track 1 1 point: Outside In 1 point: Skullker Drill Missile (Area 6) Just Missed: Track 12 Track 1 - 1985. Beast. Joris de Man! Still cannot believe that Killzone composer was a demoscener, even though that's not entirely uncommon. Great week. Sad that we only got 7 noms in 3 weeks though. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Quick votes before my computer goes kaput again.
(2 points) Globulous Original Soundtrack - Dawn Oblique (2 points) Formula 1 Simulator (C64 Game Rip) - Track 1 (2 points) Crapman (Game Rip) - Track 12 Migraine-inducing problems with my computer mean that I may not be able to participate for a quite a while. Sigh. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
I think therefore I am... I think.

3 Points - Drill Dozer (Game Rip) - Skullker Drill Missile (Area 6)
2 Points - Metropolis Street Racer (Game Rip) - Outside In 1 Point - Globulous Original Soundtrack - Dawn Oblique Drill Dozer is the most similar soundtrack to Pokemon RSE because Go Ichinose GBA and that's a very good thing for ME. WOW I AM NOT PAYING very much ATTENTION to this place (in comparison to (earlier)) I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
I've never voted in this thing before, so yeah here goes.
[2 points] Drill Dozer (Game Rip) - Skullker Drill Missile (Area 6): I was actually thinking of Kirby for some reason instead of Pokemon, but yeah, it does sound like something similar to RSE's music, which was catchy in itself. Like this. [1 point] Globulous Original Soundtrack - Dawn Oblique: Goodness this was soothing and nice without sounding boring. [1 point] Formula 1 Simulator (C64 Game Rip) - Track 1: This was a cool song. I enjoy those kinda sounds, however you describe those kinds of sounds. [1 point] Metropolis Street Racer (Game Rip) - Outside In: Pretty upbeat, which gets me. Also sounds like elevator music for an island resort. [1 point] Turok 2: Seeds of Evil (GBC Game Rip) - Base Stage: I'm guessing Muzz nom'd this. Definitely like it as well as the rest of the gamerip. Well neat. I was speaking idiomatically. |
lawl 5 noms
Additional Spam:
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Damn that Muzza and his bad mojo. We'd have more than enough if everyone who voted also nominated.
FELIPE NO |
3 points: Drill Dozer (Game Rip) - Skullker Drill Missile (Area 6) 2 points: Metropolis Street Racer (Game Rip) - Outside In 1 point: Formula 1 Simulator (C64 Game Rip) - Track 1 I put off listening to Pokemon music for the longest time. I played RBY and the music was okay but nothing I really loved, and I generally wasn't fond of the bits and pieces that showed up in the BSC. But the thing that always needled me and eventually got me to do it was that Drill Dozer's soundtrack is so dang good. Love the hyperactive compositions, and the sound programming is some of the best on the GBA. Skullker Drill Missile is the most over the top of the lot, which is pretty much why it's my favorite from the game. Go Ichinose is gr8 heck yes Richard Jacques time <33333 Draconis What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Well, managed to get my computer running again (for now...) with some help. So here's a last min nom:
* Album Title: Mushihimesama Double Arrange Album * Artist: TECHNOuchi * Composer: Manabu Namiki * Track Title: The Black Shell Beast King <Stage4> * Source: http://vgmdb.net/album/14992 * File Location: Nomination folder * Disc Number: 2 * Track Number: 7 * Catalogue Number: CVAS-003 * Year: 2009 Jam it back in, in the dark.
I think therefore I am... I think.

Computer problems must be contagious. I lost my external hard drive to mechanical failure a few days ago - the one that contained 99% of my vgm collection. My next nom represents how I feel about this:
Game: Big Brain Academy (DS Rip) Composer: Kenta Nagata Track: Title Track #: 01 on slippyToad from ffshrine's rip Catalog #: n/a Year: 2006 Source: Big Brain Academy for Nintendo DS (2005) - MobyGames, Additional Info: Actually this was on my nom list for a long while. Good time as any to break it out. Uploading to the FTP shortly. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
NOMINATION
Album/Game Title: Kaze no Klonoa: door to phantomile Original Soundtrack Artist(s): Hiroshi Okubo Disc Number: 2 of 2 Track Number: 17 Track Title: The Ring Catalog Number: CRCP-15524~5 Year: 1997 Source(s): CRCP-15524~5 | Kaze no Klonoa: door to phantomile Original Soundtrack - VGMdb wow I haven't NOMINATED in a long time. I feel BAD about that! There's so much good stuff I could nominate. I don't know why I picked this one!!!!! (but I did) How ya doing, buddy? |
Hahahaha we got 8 take that Muzza
1). [14] Globulous Original Soundtrack - Dawn Oblique 2-t). [10/6] Drill Dozer (Game Rip) - Skullker Drill Missile (Area 6) 2-t). [10/6] Metropolis Street Racer (Game Rip) - Outside In 4). [8] Formula 1 Simulator (C64 Game Rip) - Track 1 5). [7] Crapman (Game Rip) - Track 12 6). [6] Tunnel B1 Soundtrack - Nemesis 7). [5] Turok 2: Seeds of Evil (GBC Game Rip) - Base Stage The ordering of second and third place isn't terribly important except for bragging rights, but the site kind of requires a decision, so rather than looking for someone to tiebreak it and make this go any longer I just threw them both into ChocoDecide. Spoiler:
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
VICTORY AT LONG LAST
Well, long last being since Week 261 and April I guess. But still, yay for eking out one-point wins. Most amazing jew boots |
In other news, congrats Orion. Thoroughly enjoyed your nom! But I can't help wonder if your contagion has crossed the physical-digital divide to wreak havoc on our computer systems. How ya doing, buddy?
I think therefore I am... I think.

CHz; you forgot to count Chuckster's vote. Doesn't change much except giving Dawn Oblique more of a lead.
Gratz orion! I got a silver, thanks ChocoDecide! |
